Architecture acts as a 'sign' that communicates the collective creativity of human beings. This is part of what distinguishes it from mere buildings. If something is produced to fulfill a human need, we might call that a 'structure'. But if it is consciously and artfully designed in a way that will impact the surrounding built environment, opinion about it changes and it is usually considered as a work of architecture. The question of what is distinctive about architectural design and how knowledge can be communicated is a current issue for educational practice. Not only must architects be educated on the principles of architectural design, but also they must be helped to acquire a critical and reflective attitude to their work. New designs and planning solutions are presented as architects compete for freedom and flexibility in an increasingly pressurized working environment. However, it seems that many practices fail to overcome the challenge of communicating the results of design strategies to clients, to judges in competitions, or planning authorities. Success in these areas is not purely a matter of following a prescribed set of rules, because architectural design fundamentally involves the exercise of intuitive and creative judgment, deploying knowledge in a unique and even 'progressive' way. In the end, the practical and theoretical requirements for architectural design feed into each other. If the knowledge gained about how we perceive and create built form is communicated effectively, then the shaping of our environment will be approached less obliquely and with greater sympathy. Such an enriched approach to architectural resolution can only strengthen public and professional satisfaction with the end product.

Get a clarity of the client's vision and expectations as you are going to build his/her project. 3. Prepare Concept and rough sketches : Prepare a series of rough sketches showing the general arrangement of rooms and how you are going to do zoning on site. Discuss this with the client thoroughly. It's important that the client approves it before you proceed to the next step. 4. Prepare detailed drawings after approval : Now after discussion, prepare detailed drawings for the client. All floor plans and spaces should be of correct size and shape. 5.
