As I stated in my previous post - " The most difficult part of building something is to ideate what you are going to build " And it's very true to some extent. Before building something, developing the idea and mindset to make it is more important. As a developer, I have seen myself struggling with new project ideas as well as blocking so many hours on a single file only because I never knew what should be my next step. Here are some of the things which I achieved and got to know as more as I went outside of the "CODING" part : 1. You should know what you are making, and how it can cater to the audience. 2. Before whacking up your keyboard, it is nice to have a quick idea of the whole app in your brain or even a rough sketch could help in making the process simpler and easier. 3. In development, it is never about cramming the syntax, it is always about how efficiently you can put your ideas into some line of code in a neat and clean way. 4. Never aim to develop the best build on the first go, instead of it, try to make a skeleton first and then optimise your application layer by layer. 5. UI is very much important to make a highly appealing application, and a developer should never waste time on it, use various online templates and focus on the business logic only. If we build and release an app, and we notice that the performance is sluggish, we should profile that app and benchmark its performance. It's akin to doing an x-ray on a patient, plus maybe doing some lab analysis (blood, urine, whathaveyou). That practice should help us identify the bottleneck(s). In my experience, most of the time the culprit for suboptimal performance is found at the I/O boundary. That bottleneck is relatively easy to identify. Once identified, the team should work on removing the bottleneck. But if the team hasn't identified the bottleneck, there is a risk of them wasting time, money, and effort on optimizing imaginary bottlenecks. Most typically, from what I see, teams may jump on working on optimizing the code, tightening the performance of the code that runs in main memory. What a waste! No matter how much we improve the performance of the code, the app will remain as sluggish as it was before we wasted so much time, money, and effort on trying to fix it. The real bottleneck is still there. Similar considerations apply to the team's work style. If the delivery to production is sluggish, no use trying to invent ways for the team to write the code faster, unless we have proven that the bottleneck is indeed in the speed of typing. But I see teams arguing against some new ways of working (mob programming, for example) saying that it is slowing the rate of pumping code into the feature branch. Even if that were true, who cares? Just bloating the feature branch with more and more code is the exact opposite of productivity. Do teams realize that productivity only means putting solutions in the hands of end users/customers? So, where is the real bottleneck that is causing teams to falter and delay the production of solutions? I'd wager to say it's never in the speed of writing the code.

Identify gaps and opportunities. Learn from their success and failures 3. Choosing the best right Technology to be used in development Selecting the appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Consider factors like scalability, performance, and community support. 4. Plan Your architecture Design the high-level structure of your opinion. Decide on components, modules, and how the interact. Consider flexibility, security and maintenance 5. Creation of Wireframes and Mock-ups Visualize your apps’ user interface. Sketch wireframes or use design tools to create mock-ups. This assists to iterate on the design before development 6. Setting up your Development Environment Installing of all required software’s for example IDEs, version control, database. Configure your environment for a smoother development. 7. Defining of the APIs and Data Models  Planning on how your application will communicate with external services or databases. Design your data models (database schema, API endpoints). 8. Breaking down of Tasks and Set Milestones Creating of a project plan. Dividing development tasks into smaller piece. Set achievable milestones to track progress. 9. Set Up Version Control Use Git or any other version control system. Regularly commit your code to track changes and collaborate with others. 10. Security Considerations  Thinking about security from the start. Protect user data, handle authentication, and prevent common vulnerabilities. 11. Test Early and Often Write unit tests, integration tests, and perform manual testing. Catch issues early to avoid surprise later. 12. Prepare for Deployment   Choose a hosting platform (cloud services, servers). Set up deployment pipelines and continuous integration. Update! 🚨 It's been 3 weeks, and I'm excited to share the progress on Taskify, a productivity companion and a task management tool I'm working on. Here are the features implemented for the web version: Features Added: Add/Edit Tasks: Seamlessly manage your tasks. Homepage Overhaul: View all your schedules and tasks for the day, ordered by priority. Calendar Integration: Easily view and edit tasks for specific days. Key Insight: During my research while developing the focus feature, I learned that web APIs don't have access to system-level settings for security reasons. Therefore, this feature won't be functional on the web version but will be available in the app version.
