Plans DO NOT come from beforeUdig but are sent directly to you from the utility asset owner. Once all plans have been received from the affected asset owners as indicated by the cover sheet, study the plans and information thoroughly to ensure there is an understanding of what is required. Some asset owners such as high-pressure gas and water will require a site inspection and permit to dig, this is the law and you MUST follow their instructions before you dig. #damageprevention #safedigging #contractors #utility #worksafe #construction #underground #constructionindustry #safetyfirst #safetyculture #workplacesafety #safetymanagement #assetprotection #infrastructure

"It'll never happen to me" That’s what every contractor and operator thinks. Subconsciously, that's how all our brains are wired. Whenever we hear of a catastrophic accident or tragic news - we feel empathy, but believe ourselves to be somehow immune from such incidents. Just like in our youth we have dreams and plans that get a reality check when we become functioning adults - the myth of "It'll never happen to me" needs to be busted before it ends in tragedy. Utility incidents occur on a daily basis. Taking shortcuts and hurrying to complete tasks with the mindset of "I've done it countless times without any issues," becoming lax or complacent on the job – all these behaviors can result in significant repercussions. Your responsibility is crucial in placing utilities underground safely and efficiently. Relying on luck is too risky given the potential consequences.
Utility contractors help you: • Keep the lights on. • Keep the water running. • Keep the internet signal going. And much more. Their work impacts the quality of your life. So the next time you see a utility contractor, let them know you're thankful for their work! It goes a long way when we hear that from our community. #anchorconstruction #construction #utilities
