Where Have All the Bands Gone?..... 🥁 Have you noticed the dramatic decline in top charting from bands vs. solo artists over the past couple decades? It's really strange the more I look at it. Here are some eye-opening stats from the UK charts according to Richard Osman to compare the first half of these decades: 1980s (First Half): Bands held the #1 spot for 146 weeks. 1990s (First Half): Bands held the #1 spot for 141 weeks. This Decade (First Half): Bands held the #1 spot for just 3 weeks (and The Beatles were one of those). That's a 98% Drop in Hits from bands. What in the world? 🤯 What's causing this decline in band success? What factors are at play and will the pendulum swing back?
