We're encouraging employees to have multiple side gigs alongside their current full-time role. For 5 to 12 hours per week, you can cover all of your monthly expenses.

Dear Job Seekers, When applying for a position, it's important to consider the time zone and working hours of the company you're applying to. Applying during office working hours (usually Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) increases the likelihood of your application being seen and reviewed by the hiring team in a timely manner. Applying during off working hours or weekends may indeed result in your application being placed in a "dump file" or getting lost in the shuffle, as hiring teams may not be actively monitoring applications during these times. Keep in mind that this may vary depending on the company and their hiring processes, but it's always a good idea to be mindful of the time zone and working hours when submitting your application. Good luck with your job search! #copied

I love the honesty in reporting here, by Rachel Feintzeig, who found that the path to part-time can be thorny but worth it -- and doesn't necessarily have to include a perfectly pro-rated pay-cut. I often tell my clients who are working untraditional (and fewer) hours, "if you're doing the whole job, you deserve the whole paycheck." So often, women/moms in particular are already overdelivering by hanging onto duties they'd long grown out of. Right-sizing their hours just gets them back to doing their job description and still frees up time for bigger-picture thinking and stretch work. One additional thing to note: It's good to know where your employer's cut-off is for part-time vs. full-time work in regards to your benefits eligibility.
Do you dream of shrinking your job, to make more room for your life? The number of people opting to work part time has reached new highs. So many of us want more time for family, hobbies or side gigs. Some would take a pay cut for the privilege. First, we have to get up the courage to ask. My column this week is all about how to have the part-time conversation with your boss. My interviews for this one surprised me. Kathryn Valentine told me you might not have to slash your pay as much as your think. Other workers shared stories of asks that were trickier and more nuanced than I expected. I came away still believing in the power of asking. https://lnkd.in/e3zxurjz

Stop trying to do everything by yourself. Realistically, you can work 10 hours a day. If you add another person, you can work 20 hours a day. If you add 2 people, you can work 30 hours a day. >> Use a VA >> Find commission based workers >> Hire mentors to give you more time

Why are we less likely to find employment after becoming a parent and being the primary carer who is then seeking part-time employment? It doesn’t change or lessen your skill set, but it definitely increases your multitasking and time-management skills. It doesn’t make you less likely to be productive, it makes you more productive than before. It doesn’t make you less likely to be a good fit, or underperform. After becoming a parent it shouldn’t be a big deal or a struggle to find work to fit around our families. It’s 2024!

Very hypothetical question! Hypothetically...if the top 5 drivers for considering a new role were as follows - 1. Salary & benefits 2. Location & commute 3. Company culture & values 4. Job responsibilities & Fit 5. Company reputation & stability At this moment in time...choosing only one of the above, which one would you consider non-negotiable?
