It's crucial for CT's and VT's to have the necessary information on their rating plates to adhere to European norms. The IEC standards applicable include: - IEC 61869-1: General Instrument Transformers - IEC 61869-2: Current Transformers - IEC 61869-3: Voltage Transformers - IEC 61869-10: Low Power CT (LPCT) Notably, LPCT encompasses both mV output CT's and rogowski coils. It is very important to review the difference of -2 and -10 and explain the additional tests that -10 includes. But what does this signify and how does it benefit? Understanding the IEC requirements is key. Contact us and may be we can plan a joint technical review workshop on how to read rating plate of CT's and VT's. Contact us and let’s have a technical exchange about current and voltage measurement. 🌟 Another successful project completed at a client's site, with a case study coming your way soon. 🌟 But first, a brief overview of this innovative project. Enspec recently completed the commissioning and energisation of a 3.5MVAr, 33kV Passive Harmonic filter for a 50MW BESS site. CTO Tim Rastall says "We joined the project when the initial G5/5 harmonic studies identified non-compliances for various operating points. We completed a harmonic filter design and revised the G5/5 report to show how the site would now comply with the planning limits at all orders. Along the way we have collected site measurements from the site in operation with/without the filter in service." Soon we will release a detailed case study about this process. It will demonstrate the site’s full harmonic G5/5 compliance measurements with the filter in service. We’re extremely proud of our team for this one. As will be seen from final data collection, our equipment not only corrected non-compliances, but is providing optimal harmonic results, supporting in the site’s smooth operation. Stay tuned for updates. #Harmonics #BESS #HarmonicFilter #Enspec #PowerSolutions

How do you tender control- and protection systems for substations? My experience is that requirements often are reused from one project to the next, requirements that have been carefully considered over time and are reasonable to pose, thus justifying their reuse. However, are they all up-to-date, and do they effectively address the core problems we face today? In my experience, describing requirements for control and protection systems, is a time-consuming task, and evaluating whether the proposed solution meets our requirements is equally demanding. Can we afford this when our power grid is set to expand to an unprecedented extent? At Eluminate, we work with and aim to provide our customers with the best options for efficiently handling requirements and specifications. From our perspective, the best solution is to use #IEC61850 as a framework for this process. Did you know that many vendors offer software within the IEC61850 framework, software that enables the automation of specification of individual protection relays and substations as a whole, in a standardized format. It also allows for the comparison of offerings in a standardized format, all in a very short amount of time, instead of the tedious manual process. It is therefore crucial to understand that IEC61850 is not just a communication protocol, but much more.

🚀 Breaking Barriers in Gas Flow Measurement! 🚀 The FLUXUS G608 portable gas flow meter is based on the widely used, highly reliable and versatile G601. Still, it has been specifically designed for use in hazardous areas and is ATEX, IECEx and FM certified. It is the ideal solution for gas flow measurement in hazardous areas, whether as a temporary replacement for a stationary flow meter, for check metering or service operations. Due to its certification, users are no longer required to obtain a Hot Work Permit, making access to ATEX, IECEx and FM zones much easier and less time-consuming. Equipped with two flow channels, multiple inputs and an integrated data logger with a serial interface, the portable gas flow meter is designed for direct use in demanding environments such as upstream, midstream and downstream, as well as in the chemical and process industries. The G608 is also very compact and lightweight, allowing the user to carry the complete measurement system as personal luggage for offshore visits. Curious to learn more? Visit our website for detailed information and see how the G608 can revolutionize your operations. 👉https://ow.ly/ipIU30sFoBy #GasFlowMeasurement #HazardousAreas #FLUXUSG608 #Innovation #IndustrialSolutions

IEC61850 in a nutshell #IEC61850 is a standard used for substation communication where each component in a substation is represented as a logical node. It applies to both switchgear (circuit breakers, disconnectors, earth switches...) as well as protection functions (instantaneous overcurrent, overvoltage...), other control functions (inrush current minimizers, point-on-wave control...), automation functions (autoreclosers, automatic transformer tap-changer control...), metering and measurement functions etc. All these components/functions can be represented as simple logical nodes with attributes and objects. IEC61850 makes it easy to communicate, control, and exchange substation information either to/from an operator in the control room or to/from other equipment. One of the biggest advantages that such a standard introduces is facilitation of interoperability of equipment from different manufacturers.
