In today’s first Senior Spotlight, we’d like to highlight one of our Brakes Group members, Luc Bastarache. During Luc’s five years on the team, his focus has been as a critical member of our Brkes and Driver Controls Group, where he has served as both Lead, Associate, and Group member. In these roles, he first designed the rotors for last year’s car, F30. This year, he helped to spec the brake calipers and pads for the Brembo calipers used on F32. This included a critical analysis of thermals and friction coefficients to guarantee F32’s success. Above anything, Luc said, “I love the camaraderie among members of the team. Everyone works incredibly hard on this car and nothing was cooler than showing up to competition and seeing everyone's excitement and concern for how we performed. It brought this fairly large team closer together.” From here, Luc is looking for a job in the Aerospace Industry. Luc, you have brought not only a huge knowledge base but also an incredibly friendly personality that has consistently put the team on track for success. We will all surely miss you. Have you or your team had "long pedal" issues this past season? We cant believe how many teams have said that its our new Halo By Orthene "P1" fluid that has solved their problems. After spending £1000's on a mechanical solution with no positive impact, a simple change to the P1 fluid has made all the difference. .....this article in the Autosport magazine might help. Its important to note that a combo of the best hard parts and the best fluid is what gives the ultimate braking performance. So in addition to the best fluid, use the best hard parts brands out there like Alcon, AP, Brembo etc. Drop us an email if you want some product or technical support: info@halobyorthene.com #motorsport #automotivenews #autosport #f1 #nascar

Need Auto Leads? Text CBT to 21002 \ Porsche Fuhrmann Four-Cam Engine Project: This Fuhrmann four-cam Porsche engine is said to have been initially installed in a Porsche 550 Spyder, from which it was removed and disassembled following a crash over 40 years ago. The Type 547/1 engine was acquired by the seller as a project last year and retains its case, a Hirth Motoren GmbH roller-bearing crankshaft, and a pair of four-cam cylinder heads fitted with valves, shafts, and gearing. Additional parts include Porsche-branded valve covers, a generator assembly, and a cooling fan. This disassembled Fuhrmann four-cam project is now offered in West Palm Beach, Florida. http://dlvr.it/TGldh6 For Leads Visit: CarsBuyText.com #carsforsale #carsbuytext #autoleads

Porsche’s New 6-Stroke Engine: A Game-Changer? In 2023, Porsche filed a patent application for a 6-stroke engine (US 2024-0301817 A1), and it was recently published. The document describes an engine with two different stroke lengths within the six cycles, which could potentially deliver the power of a 2-stroke engine but with emissions closer to a 4-stroke engine (disclaimer: I am NOT an automotive engineer! ). Interestingly, Porsche had filed for a similar patent back in 2008 (US7726268B2), but it lapsed. Now, with renewed interest and significant investment in combustion engine R&D, it raises the question—why now, especially with Europe’s impending ban on commercial combustion vehicles? Could this innovation find a home in Formula 1, or will it target industrial applications? Porsche seems determined to push the boundaries of combustion technology despite the broader shift toward electric vehicles. Is this a wise investment or a high-stakes gamble in a rapidly changing automotive landscape? Check out the animation here (starting at 5:25): Porsche 6-Stroke Engine. What are your thoughts on Porsche’s strategy? Could this be the future of racing or an entirely different sector? #Innovation #Technology #R&D #Porsche #CombustionEngine #F1 #Automotive #Engineering #FutureOfMobility #Patent

Keeping The ICE Dream Alive !! 🇩🇪 Porsche’s latest patent introduces a groundbreaking innovation to enhance internal combustion engines. This new design features a six-stroke engine with two power and two compression strokes, effectively improving efficiency and power density. The engine uses a unique crankshaft mechanism that moves within a ring (annulus), allowing it to complete a full cycle over 1080° of crankshaft rotation, unlike conventional engines, which operate over 720°. This results in an engine delivering more power per cycle and offering cleaner combustion than traditional two-stroke or four-stroke engines. The patent also emphasises a potential synergy with synthetic fuels or hydrogen, aiming to create an engine that not only performs better but is also more eco-friendly. The complex planetary gearing and dual top and bottom dead centres are key to this new design, potentially offering a way for Porsche to keep combustion engines alive while reducing emissions. With EVs taking over and petrol engines facing regulatory extinction, why would Porsche bother developing a new 6-stroke engine? The answer lies in one legendary number: 911 A must-watch for ICE enthusiasts. #porsche #6stroke

M-Works Search Engineering Video Friday. Inside the Lamborghini Factory For some reason, I’m intrigued by V-12 engines. I’m not sure why would want or even need a V-12 engine. Last week, I highlighted the Bentley W-12 engine. To build on the V-12 theme, I found this video of the Lamborghini V-12 production plant in Italy. If you feel the need for sheer power, or just love sports cars. Watch this video and see how Lamborghini makes their V-12 engine then follow assembly to the final product. It's impressive. https://buff.ly/3YdxRbR M-Works Search-Working to identify the best manufacturing professionals®

🚦Is a six-stroke engine, yes, not a four-stroke, going to save the day for ICE-powered cars like the Porsche 911 and help enthusiasts who aren't ready for an EV?🚘 📢 Porsche just patented a six-stroke engine design. Petrol heads know about two-stroke and four-stroke engines, but a six-stroke? So what's it all about? In short, it 'combines' a four-stroke with a two-stroke engine, resulting in more power and cleaner exhaust gases when used at high ref. And is there any other proper way of using a 911 than on higher refs? ⏩ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤? 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 A four-stroke engine needs four strokes to produce one combustion stroke, while a six-stroke engine creates two combustion strokes in six strokes. More combustion strokes per total number of strokes results in more power! The good news is that this design works perfectly with three-cylinder or six-cylinder engines. 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫 The six-stroke engine should also be cleaner, as the second combustion stroke uses a mix of fresh air, fuel, and 'dirty air' from the previous combustion stroke, burning leftover fuel that otherwise would go into the exhaust. I am a petrolhead and would love to see ICE cars being further developed. Don't get me wrong; I love the instant power provided by electric cars; I just don't see them as the (final) answer to our environmental problems. And no, I don't have the answer. 🍏 A footnote is that the actual introduction of a six-stroke engine could depend on the further development of e-fuels. In the EU, ICE cars running on e-fuels can still be sold after 2035. However, much development and ramping up capacity are needed to make that a viable alternative. But still, there is a glimpse of hope that even after 2035, we can enjoy a flat-six ICE engine in a Porsche 911. 🥳 What do you think? Is this the future of the Porsche 911? #Porsche911 #EngineTech #PetrolHeads #EV #Porsche
