Yesterday I posted a short article called Rethinking Documentary Film Festival Policies: A Case for Modifying Premiere Requirements and Towards a More Collaborative Vision. I just added the following idea in it namely awarding distribution opportunities for top audience-pleasing films: In addition, festivals could consider leveraging audience awards to enhance a film's journey. For example, the top 10 audience-pleasing films at a festival could be awarded distribution opportunities in the region where the festival is held. This practice would provide filmmakers with tangible financial rewards while strengthening the connection between festivals and local audiences. #filmfestival #documentary #documentaryfilmfestival
