I believe revenue generation is at the heart of creating value not just for customers and shareholders, but for society as a whole. In alignment with Milton Friedman’s perspective that “the social responsibility of business is to generate profits,” I see optimized operations as the key driver. 📈 By streamlining processes, aligning teams, and leveraging the right tools, businesses can unlock sustainable growth, deliver exceptional value to customers, and reinvest in innovations that benefit society. Startups: It's Time to Set Tight Plans for the Future! While working as a consultant with startups, one key takeaway has always stood out: the importance of planning for both vertical and horizontal growth. Vertical Growth focuses on refining your current offerings and deepening your presence in the market. Improving core products, enhancing customer satisfaction, and optimizing operations can lead to sustainable growth within your existing customer base. Horizontal Growth is about expanding your reach—whether through new markets, new products, or diversifying your revenue streams. It's about scaling strategically, without losing sight of what makes your business unique. From my experience, the most successful startups I’ve worked with do three things: -Strategic Planning: They map out a clear vision that balances both types of growth. - Adaptability: They stay agile and are not afraid to pivot when market conditions shift. - Strong Team Investment: They build leadership teams that can scale alongside the business. As you plan for the future, ask yourself: Are you balancing depth and breadth in your growth strategy? Ensuring a focus on both vertical and horizontal growth can make all the difference in scaling sustainably. If you're navigating this journey and need guidance, feel free to reach out. I'm here to support your startup’s growth—both deep and wide. #ConsultingExperience #Startups #GrowthStrategy #VerticalGrowth #HorizontalGrowth #ScaleUp #Leadership #Entrepreneurship

In 2021 I was sitting in a Board Meeting with an Inc. 5000 CEO that our VC appointed: He scaled his operation from a small startup to: - Over $9M in annual revenue. - Over $40M raised. - Over 200 employees. Not to bad… In these sessions, he would coach us, and share insights he acquired during his startup journey. One of the most impactful lessons he shared was: “As the founder of the company, it is your responsibility to always do what is in the best interest of the company, even when/if, it is not in the best interest of yourself.” This spoke to me as an aspiring leader. That… - Making the uncomfortable decisions - Having the uncomfortable conversations - Being the guiding light of accountability Is not simply what you “should” be doing. But it is fundamentally your responsibility as Founder & CEO. To your shareholders and the mission. Changed my mindset…from being part of “best practice” to being “my job”. And I’ve never forgotten it. #startup #business #boardroom —- Hey, I’m Nelson, Founder of TeachOne If you like this content, give me a follow for regularly scheduled posts about startups, businesses, and life. Vision for a tech startup is more than just a few words on paper; it's the blueprint for what is possible. But no matter how powerful and inspiring your vision is, it won't take shape or come alive unless you, the leader, embody it in your actions, decisions, and mindset daily. As a leader, you set the tone and pave the way for your team. If your vision is clear but your actions don't align with it, it's only a dream - that you can't achieve. As a leader, you don't just tell your team what's possible - you show them. #TechStartups #TeamBuilding #StartupSuccess
