If I had a goal to raise $100,000 for a cause… I would allocate 100% of everything beyond my essentials into relationship-building. Does it matter if you’re busy, new to fundraising, etc.…? Sure! But, I would want as much of my effort to elevate me from struggling to raise funds to easily securing $200K, $500K, even $1M. Here’s what’s crazy — you can learn the strategies to raise $1M in donations with just a fraction of that amount. People just don’t know it. You will invest in knowledge, one way or another. The question is whether you want to invest TIME or MONEY.

General Management Executive. MBA. Proven record of success growing and leading industrial businesses globally.
Additional takeaway from my last post: want to help western North Carolina (WNC)? Adopt a church and make a donation directly. There is a huge logistical/ distribution problem getting aid out from the I40/US321 corridors right now (the two examples from Old Fort and Morganton provided last post plus the Town of Boone stopped taking donations Friday). As in the example provided, churches are actively engaged in helping their communities but are short on resources while local municipalities are being overrun with the influx of aid. Disaggregating the distribution approach is needed. Just as in business, small locally focused industrial distributors often provide value because of their access to and relationships with their customers. So too do churches have this access and these relationships and every community has a church. So just as I found Ed and Reggie at FBC Hildebran so too could you find a church in WNC and make a donation and help bypass the bottlenecks. Want to help WNC? Adopt a WNC church and make a donation directly.

One question we are often asked (which we are very grateful for btw), is how can i get involved? Well, there are 3 ways you can get involved with us and our work: 1) MAD Sponsors – We are asking local businesses to donate a small affordable monthly amount to Lets MAD, and 100% of this money will go towards making up the shortfall between UC (Universal Credit) and the private rental market. 2) MAD Investors – Individuals and companies with small amounts to invest, starting at £5000, can invest in a property and commit to different periods of time, depending on their needs, whether that be 12 months, 5 years, 10 years or longer. 3) MAD Fans – People or organisations can participate in fundraisers, and any funds received will go towards a deposit on a property. To join us or find out more, contact us on: 01772 915371 info@letsmad.co.uk

A thought for the week. In fundraising, it is easy to get caught up in numbers and goals, but at the heart of every dollar donated is a real human story. Each gift supports not just a cause, but the people and missions behind it. That is why relationships and connections are so important—they’re what humanize fundraising. At its core, it is people helping people. When we take the time to truly know our supporters, to hear their stories and share the impact of their generosity, we are not just raising money. We are building meaningful partnerships that inspire long-term support. It's about cultivating trust and establishing a connection that extends beyond a transaction, making every interaction more authentic and impactful. #relationshipbuilder #fundraising #peoplehelpingpeople
