A few weeks ago, Boro Park Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing laced up their running shoes and showed up strong for a 5K at Prospect Park with Prospect Park Track Club! 🏃♀️🏃♂️ With 25 staff members, including some of our amazing rehab team, dedicated social workers, compassionate nurses, and even one of our inspiring volunteers, we had an incredible time supporting a great cause. Proud of our team spirit and the wonderful community we've built! 💙✨ #BoroParkCenter #5KRun #TeamSpirit #HealthcareHeroes #ProspectParkTC

Tip for Hospice Nurses: placing a communication notebook in the Patient’s home can really help when we are making frequent or complex changes to the patient’s care. I have found that helping the caregiver to designate a “tablet spot” reduces the chance the tablet is misplaced or lost. #tips #tipsforhospiceleaders #tipsforhospicenurses #forhospicenurses #tablet #notebook #communicate #hospice #caregiver

As a society, we often overlook the immense impact that nurses and caregivers have on our lives. These dedicated professionals are not only responsible for providing medical care and support, but they also offer comfort, compassion, and a listening ear during some of the most challenging moments in a person's life. In many cases, nurses and caregivers are the last people we interact with before we pass away, making their role all the more significant. We must recognize the value of their work and treat them with the respect and kindness they deserve. We must remember that nurses and caregivers are not just doing a job; they are making a difference in the lives of countless individuals and families every single day. By showing appreciation, being patient, and understanding the demands of their profession, we can help make their lives a little easier and ensure that they can continue to provide the highest quality of care possible. Let us all take a moment to reflect on the vital role that nurses and caregivers play in our society and commit to supporting them in any way we can. Whether it's through simple gestures of gratitude, advocating for better working conditions, or ensuring they have the resources they need to do their jobs effectively, we can all play a part in making a positive difference in the lives of these incredible individuals. #NursesAreHeroes #CaregiverAppreciation #HealthcareHeroes #CompassionateCare #RespectForNurses #SupportHealthcareWorkers #CaregivingMatters #ThankANurse #NursingIsACallingNotAJob #CaregivingIsCourage

Documentation Tip for Hospice Nurses: below are some tips to consider when documenting to support eligibility on your pts with Parkinson’s: 1. Make the first word of the sentence negative instead of positive (disoriented x1 instead of oriented x3) 2. Focus on what they cannot do instead of what they can do (unable to ambulate w/o a walker) 3. Detail what their movement looks like (shuffling, slow, unsteady, etc) 4. Detail how their ADLs are affected (unable to hold spoon r/t tremors. Requires adaptive devices to feed self) Have a great rest of your day! I love you guys!
