James thank you speaking the truth, transparency is a key value in any genuinely worthy organization, what’s wrong with that? I’m not sure. But the best groups do it. A quarter of $1 billion, for what really? MPS students already have the highest dollar average per student in the whole state, to me it’s just mismanagement from what I’ve learned in my life experiences working for a variety of organizations and a variety of industries. Why are school buildings that are only half full at most still being run? It’s like having a fleet of vehicles if you’re not using them all to the fullest capacity, then you need to consolidate their use. Evaluate the students learning the schools that are in the best physical condition and right locations, and get rid of the rest, and generate some more money. A minimalist approach, and some areas is a wise philosophy.

Our research on declining passage rates for Wisconsin school referenda is cited in this Wisconsin State Journal report, via Abbey Machtig. It details two Madison Metropolitan School District referenda that are likely to go before Madison voters this November. In April, our research found that Wisconsin voters approved 62 of 103 school referenda placed on ballots this spring. The 60.2% approval rate was the lowest in a midterm or presidential election year since 2010 -- even as we saw the most ballot questions for spring elections since at least 2000.

With the UK parliamentary general election becoming ever more visible on the horizon, Stone King is here to help with our new election hub. The latest date that the general election can be held is 28 January 2025. After the May 2 elections, there has been speculation that the Prime Minister will wait until January to call an election, but others are still referring to a summer election. The general consensus on timing, however, still remains October or November 2024. The Stone King election hub has been created as a way to keep individuals and organisations – including charities, education providers, social enterprises, businesses, and faith-based organisations – up to date on the latest news, insights and developments relating to the general election. We will update it as policies are announced and when the political parties announce their manifestos.
