Our family accessed genetic testing in 2013 through a study, identifying the gene, ending our 15 year diagnostic journey. Our world has completely changed because genetic testing. Let’s change other families’ worlds. 2013- Gene identified, medications changed, community built, research underway, compound identified, symptoms managed, and everyday care dialed back. 2024- Exome sequencing is covered in 28 states by Medicare and by many major insurance carriers. It can be ordered by a doctor or, in many states, a genetic counselor. The one test is available and accessible.
