If you’re one of those who get the Monday blues or find their job unfulfilling, monotonous, or just plain boring, this post is definitely for you. Here’s how you can break the monotony of work, and inject some fun and freshness into it everyday: 📌 Pepper your day with your passions, interests and hobbies. If you love to read, watch cute cat videos on TikTok or even garden, find ways to incorporate these into your day. When I need to breathe, I water the plants in my office. It is so soothing. 📌 Turn your lunch break into a lunch date. If you have an office bestie, even better. Do it with them. Eat. Laugh. Catch up on life outside of work. 📌 Try to do something different each day during your lunch break that breaks up the monotony. This would give you something to look forward to. A walk on Monday. A lunch date on Tuesday. A Netflix break on Wednesday. Try a new restaurant on Thursday. And Friday can be your “Anything Goes Friday”. 📍 If none of these work, maybe it’s time for a change. Visit www.olybetcareers.com to check out our vacancies because there’s never a dull moment at OlyBet Group. 😉 #Careers #NowHiring #CareerAdvice #TalentManagement #EmployeeEngagement

Today is 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, and Monday is hectic for 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 😅 Same for me as well. But we also know Monday as a 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐚𝐲. I'd like to share a motivational story with you. 𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 have been diligently searching for a job change since December. They tried everything—applying for relevant positions, consulting with 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬, seeking help from 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬—but after two months, they felt discouraged. They had applied everywhere possible and lost hope, even questioning their faith. I listened to their frustrations over calls and messages, and I simply suggested they keep applying, believing that eventually, the right opportunity would come along that matched their skills and passion. Now, in June, they hold offer letters for jobs that not only fit their aspirations but also offer salaries they had hoped for. What I want to emphasize is: 1. 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲—they don’t disappear even when things seem stacked against you. 2. 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 in yourself, in higher powers, and in the universe's plan. 3. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 by consistently applying to roles where your qualifications shine. 4. 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 and the value you bring to the table. 5. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 by exploring every possible avenue. 6. 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 by discussing your challenges with supportive friends who can offer perspective. (Kyuki baat share karne se log thoda boht kam ka gyan bhi de dete hai na 😅) 7. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 with industry trends and developments. 8. 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲 by acquiring new skills and knowledge. 9. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭 in your efforts, even when it feels like a long road. Remember these points, and next time you face challenges, equip yourself with knowledge, skills, and unwavering motivation. As Indians say, "मन के हारे हार है, मन के जीते जीत" (The defeated are defeated by their own mind, and the victorious are victorious by their own mind).😎

How do you pivot when faced with no shows or last minute cancellations? First meeting today was a no-show so I pivoted to enjoy a ridiculously sweet desert disguised as coffee, acknowledging that the holiday season flavors are here whether or not I am ready. No idea how people drink this as their norm but can't deny that it was really good 😋 It happens, people forget, and life moves on. What you do next is what matters. 🔹I pivoted to using the time to check in on a couple of friends who missed an amazing engagement last night, evaluate pending job opportunities, confirm appointments for the remainder of my day, and give thanks for the "light on my path" 🙏🏽 🔹While it shouldn't happen often, it will happen occasionally, people deserve grace, and having the resilience to pivot aligned with your purpose matters. #IntentionalPassionateSelfAware #PeopleFirst #WalkInYourPurpose

I started back at work last Monday after 8 months. I was fortunate to have that time to get acquainted to motherhood and spend quality time with my son, James. As soon as I ended my first meeting, I burst into tears. When I left in October, my manager was leaving the company, my team was dissolved with some getting laid off and the rest of us scattered to different teams. I walked in on Monday to a new team, a new manager (who actually is on mat leave so I’m reporting to my skip-level manager now), with no direction on my responsibilities. Overwhelm crashed over me because of the unknown of what the expectations would be for me. But then I had calls with my skip-level manager and another leader on the team who empowered me to think about what it is I want to do. They’re giving me space as I get up to speed in my work and giving me the opportunity to choose. They’re taking into account both my strengths and passions in career development and giving me runway to shape something potentially new for our organization. It’s a bit intimidating but it’s also fueling my ambition and motivating me to approach my work with a positive mindset. I share this because this is an example of how companies SHOULD be treating their employees. I know there’s so many out there doing the complete opposite - I’ve heard it directly from my clients. If you’re miserable and not being treated right in the workplace, I want you to know you do have a choice to change your circumstances. No job or company is perfect (and mine certainly isn’t) but you can work toward finding one that aligns more with your values and that values YOU as an employee. We only get one life and it’s much too short to be hating your job because when you do, it affects all other areas of your life - and that’s not a way to live. So consider this an open door — if/when you need someone to talk to about the career challenges you’re having, know that I am here to listen and support you in making a change. I empathize with what you’re going through, because I am navigating the corporate world along with you. I’m only a DM/email away! - Kelly

😅 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐬😅 I was going to write one of those super motivational Monday posts—you know, the ones that make you feel ready to conquer the world. But sometimes, Mondays aren’t about fresh starts and high-energy vibes. Sometimes, it’s more about navigating the to-do list while sipping (cold) coffee and finding your rhythm. So here’s my Monday motivation: Let’s show up, get things done, and remember that we’re making progress—even if it doesn’t always look glamorous. 💪 Who else is rolling with it today? 🙋♀️ (Actual photo from my first recruiting job circa 2018) 😂 #KeepingItReal #SurvivingMonday #Authenticity #MondayVibes #WorkLifeBalance #Humor

👻 Got the Sunday Scaries? I consume my fair share of social media content and one trend I found myself on the receiving end of was about “Sunday Scaries” which is feeling anxiety and dread about the upcoming work week. Of my 25+ years of working, I am largely able to say that these waves of worry and unease have been mostly brief moments in my career. Things that have given me anxiety were prepping for business presentations, having too big of a to-do list and not enough time, hoping media will show up to a media day that has been months of planning, worrying about not spending enough time with my team and giving good feedback, rain (always with the weather), and so on and so forth. Then there was a longer period where the “Sunday Scaries” were much harder to shake because the company was working through a transformation plan with an outside agency. This involved waiting for decisions to be shared that impacted a lot of people’s lives. The team was anxious. I was anxious. The unknown is a nerve-racking experience for many people. One of my coworkers had asked my advice on how to deal with anxiety of waiting on a new org chart and I told her that if you can’t control Plan A, then start working on Plan B. At least then you are focusing energy on something controllable. I had done this before when I felt ready to try something new and move on. Twice I ended up staying with my employer. The third time is when I left because the scaries were no longer just Sundays. The scaries were coming home with me. The scaries were taking over my attitude. It was time to go and try something new. I haven’t had the scaries in a little while… except maybe that one day when I really, really needed 314 people to show up to put underwear on their heads for a Guinness World Record 😅 But I’ll take these scaries all day long 🏆 #sundayscaries #marketing #stlouis

#NewJobJitters #CallingOutSick #WorkplaceConcerns Hey everyone! 🌟 I’ve had a bit of a rough start at my new job this week. On Thursday night, I found myself feeling pretty awful—food poisoning, I think. I was hoping Friday morning would bring some relief, but instead, I was stuck in the bathroom and unable to make my shift. 😷 I decided to call in sick, and my supervisor texted back saying, “No worries, feel better (my name) and we’ll see you Monday.” While I’m grateful for the understanding, I can’t help but wonder: Am I totally screwed for missing my first week? I guess I'm just feeling a bit anxious about how it will look to my coworkers and bosses. Here are a few reasons why these worries pop up: First Impressions Matter: It’s always nerve-wracking starting a new job, and I feel like missing work might leave a bad taste. Building Rapport: I want to start building relationships with my team, and missing work could slow that down. Job Security Concerns: I keep worrying that my ab... Life isn't just about what happens to you, but more importantly, what your reactions/preparations are to what is happening to you. This weekend, on several separate occasions - that was a lesson that kept ringing true. From family conversations to dramatic train journeys due to my phone crashing on me halfway through yesterday morning! Despite several incidents being "pissed off" worthy - I used my mantra of "What's anger going to add to this situation?". In the same realm - I am very much preparing for my career success daily. With one of my roles - I am regularly figuring out what success looks like for me/my manager. And I am killing it on that front. 😉 Because - as much as surprises can be great when it comes to birthday parties - when it comes to our career, do we really want to be surprised? So I prepare - I keep track of my professional development, I pre-empt the conversations that will be had with key people and I make sure I am ready for them. Because when it comes to life, career and building relationships - your feelings are valid, but do you really want to be a slave to them? Happy Monday. #TheMarketingAnu
