If you're out here freeballin' social media, you're setting yourself up for a bad, bad time.
I learned this the hard way.
After 3 years of bustin' my butt to learn everything I could about social media success, it all came crashing down around me.
And in the rubble of my hard work and crushed dreams, I had no one to blame but myself.
Don't make the same mistake I did.
Set yourself up with social media boundaries that can withstand anything thrown at you — including yourself.
Here's how.
1️⃣ Get Clear On Your Goals.
Why are you on social media? What are you here to achieve?
Whether you're building brand awareness, trying to get clients, or simply entertaining yourself, make sure you're crystal clear about your purpose here.
2️⃣ Constrict Your Consumption.
There is absolutely no reason to be on social media 24/7.
I understand wanting to be connected and in-the-know, but I promise you nothing life-changing will ONLY show up on social media.
If it's a must-know, it'll find you offline, too.
3️⃣ Control Your Feed.
Unfollow and Block are your besties — not your enemy's punishment.
The basis of boundaries is healthy control, which means getting rid of anything or anyone that gives you the ick.
4️⃣ Revisit Your Boundaries Often.
For me, this means a quarterly task in my calendar, as well as a quick glance over my goals every time I write a post.
For you, this could mean a weekly or monthly revisit — or even an annual one.
You know yourself best.
