In an unusual pattern, US Census data shows that "Most Americans chose to move to a state where they could afford to purchase a home, even if that meant fewer employment opportunities." Unlike the job-leading-the-move-decision, people are choosing affordable places to live and then sort out their job situation. There are exceptions; Texas and Florida had high net migration rates and many newly created jobs. #martinsinvesting #whypeoplemove #lasvegasrealestate #uscensus

People are on the move! 🚚 The U.S. Census Bureau’s latest report from 2023 shows us which states are growing and which ones are shrinking. Some states are shrinking mainly because it’s getting too expensive to live there. States like California and New York are losing people to other places where it costs less to live. On the other hand, the South is gaining a lot. Places like Florida and Texas are not just attracting people from other U.S. states but also from around the world. This tells us that people are looking for places that are more affordable and maybe have better weather too. Where would you move?

What terrific results we’ve had out of the 2023 APS census, an annual employee survey conducted by the Australian Public Service Commission. 78% of CER staff say it’s a good place to work, compared to the APS average of 68%. This places us 7th out of the 27 medium sized agencies. An action plan was developed by HR in consultation with our senior executive to address areas of improvement and identify opportunities. ‘I could talk all day about what a great place the CER is to work. You don't have to believe me - just look at our census results to see that our staff believe it too!’ says Jen Suess, our manager of recruitment and workforce analytics. #InTheNews "The U.S. Census Bureau has been tracking business formation statistics since 2004 and the data released on Thursday showed that the nearly 16 million new recorded business applications [in the last three years] represent an approximately 85% increase in the average flow of monthly applications relative to the period between 2004 and January 2021. In fact, the monthly average of 440,000 new business applications over the past three years is 46% higher than the average of 2017 through 2020 combined." https://lnkd.in/eH2vfB8a
