Jylon Hollinshed, an Agilities© Ambassador, recently spoke at our Annual Employment Empowerment Event, where he emphasized the importance of early career exploration! TOB 🤝 Willamette Career Academy Team Oregon Build (TOB): A groundbreaking collaboration between education, industry, state, and community sectors to connect youth with high-wage, high-demand careers in construction trades. Lane ESD and Southern Oregon ESD secured over $2.6 million in grant funding from the Oregon Department of Education, provided through the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER III) fund. This funding enables a partnership with the Mid-Willamette Education Consortium to design and pilot TOB. The initiative expands on existing career and technical education (CTE) programs, such as the Mid-Willamette Valley Education Consortium’s Willamette Career Academy, Lane ESD’s Constructing a Brighter Future, and Southern Oregon ESD’s Bus Stop Project. TOB addresses disaster recovery, combats homelessness, and strengthens Oregon communities by teaching essential skills, building homes, and fostering meaningful community connections.

Philadelphia's MaST Community Charter School Network began piloting the GradRock college and career readiness platform this week. Today the Technical College High School -Pennock's Bridge Campus hosted the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce and over thirty representatives from the local businesses for a "Mega-Networking Event".  The leaders from three regional networking groups (Connections, Grow, and Biznet) coordinated their efforts to create a larger networking event that includes members from banking, insurance, healthcare, construction, and many other local industries.   These organizations support the career readiness initiatives of the CTE programs by providing many students with coop and other workplace experiences.

🌟 Inspiring Future Leaders at Oakhurst Elementary! 🌟 On Thursday, December 5th, volunteers from across Fort Worth joined forces to bring career exploration to life for students at Oakhurst Elementary as part of JA Inspire Jr! Through interactive and engaging presentations, students had the unique opportunity to learn directly from professionals representing various industries, including the Fort Worth Police Department, Humane Society of North Texas, ZZ’s Ice Cream Puffs, BNSF Railway, Moran Consultants, Trinity Metro, Tarrant Regional Water District, and many more! The energy and curiosity in the room were palpable as students explored career possibilities and discovered new passions. Our volunteer speakers didn't just share their career paths—they ignited imaginations and planted seeds of ambition, showcasing what’s possible with education, dedication, and a dream. JA Inspire Jr is all about giving students a "test drive" of the working world, sparking ideas, and helping them envision their future. From fun demonstrations to real-world advice, this event was a launchpad for these young learners to connect their interests and talents to potential career paths. A huge thank you to all the volunteers, educators, and professionals who made this event an inspiring success.
