Ever wondered what athletes tackle beyond physical preparation as they prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games? At the Australian Institute Of Sport we recently launched the 'Lead into Paris' personal development series to address just that. 🎉 Our focus: equipping athletes and their families and friends, with the skills to handle the complexities and pressures that come with elite competition and pinnacle events. From March through July we rolled out three targeted programs: 🏅 AIS Personal Brand and Sponsorship: this program helped athletes identify and attract sponsors who share their values, providing crucial funding for their travels, training, and competition. It also highlights their identities beyond their sport. 👨👩👧👦 AIS Family and Friends Program: The support system is crucial. We armed family and friends with effective communication tools and techniques to best support athletes before, during, and after the Games. 🎥 AIS Media Skills: Handling media and press is a huge part of any pinnacle event. This program provided athletes with practical tools to navigate media interactions confidently and own the narrative of their messages. The response has been outstanding, with approximately 180 Olympic and Paralympic athletes and their families and friends actively engaging in these sessions and accessing the recordings. 📝 A big shoutout to everyone involved in making this series a success. Your dedication ensures our athletes are not just prepared, but primed to excel on every front. #Paris2024 #Olympics #Paralympics #AthleteSupport #AthleteWellbeingandEngagement #PersonalDevelopment #Wellbeing #HighPerformance #AIS Christine Higgisson Kathy Fahim MBA Sonia Boland Rebecca Cook Niav Owens Vickie Saunders Charlotte Woods @Danhaesler

The Paris Olympics 2024 came to a close this past Sunday, and we wanted to take some time to highlight some global historic firsts from these amazing athletes! 🥇 However, it’s imperative to acknowledge how especially this year, several athletes had to endure and triumph through online hate, disrespect, and controversies. As the conversation and backlash around DEI continues back home, The U.S. Olympic team demonstrated to the world that our diversity is actually our strength. In the 2024 Paris Olympics, U.S. women made a significant impact by winning a total of 67 medals—26 gold, 23 silver, and 18 bronze. If the U.S. women's team were considered as a separate country, they would rank 4th overall in the medal standings, surpassing nations like Japan and Great Britain, based solely on their female athletes' achievements. The Olympic Games is not just about sports; it’s about inspiring change, fostering understanding, and building a more inclusive world. Let’s continue celebrating diversity within our own social networks and unite as a society to uplift those around us. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Let’s keep this same momentum for the upcoming Paralympics that begins on August 28th! 🏆 #ParisOlympics #Olympics #InclusivityMatters #Diversity

🌍 #Paralympics – Incredible Performances, but Lacking the Attention They Deserve? In a year filled with major sporting events like the EURO 2024, the world of sports has once again proven to be a key driver of public attention. For #corporatecommunication professionals, these events provide valuable insights into how global narratives shape public opinion and influence brand visibility. While the Summer Olympics stole the show with an incredible 377 million engagement, the 2024 Paralympics made an impressive impact of its own with 69.7 million engagements – outpacing even global events like the Tour de France. Interestingly, unlike the Olympics, which saw a drop in attention after the grand opening ceremony, the Paralympics maintained steady engagement throughout. Consistent updates, like the daily "How the Day Went" segments, kept fans connected and engaged, proving that steady, meaningful content can keep the momentum going – even without headline-grabbing moments. 💡 As we reflect on this landmark year for sports, our analysis highlights that engagement isn't always about the biggest spikes – it's about sustaining the connection with your audience. 📊 Download our report now and get access to exclusive media insights for the Paralympics 2024: https://lnkd.in/evn-wjhp #listentotheworld #diversity #disability

Having watched the Paralympics end over the weekend I am so struck by how far we still have to go in creating mainstream inclusion and empathy for all of us who share our planet. This year was only the first time in history that all 22 Paralympic sports had live broadcast coverage. Can you believe that? According to the World Health Organization (WHO) Organization, an estimated 1.3 billion people have a “significant” disability. So it is amazing really that these games are still not quite seen as equal - even though they represent over 15% of the planet. My new friend, Mark Colbourne MBE spoke to me about the power of belief and the power of coaching in shifting mindset, and indeed changing your own reality. Going from a broken back to breaking world records, Mark is the most high-energy reminder that it is the ‘belief’ and the self empathy (your own understanding of where you want to go) itself that is the true differentiator. If you believe you can, you will. Whether it’s a gold medal, a new business, or a personal fitness goal, look for the end point and work back from there. If a limitation of physical ability doesn’t stop people from winning in endurance sports, don’t let your mindset pause you from reaching your dreams. #empathy #empathymatters #leadership #inspiring #paralympics #paralympicgames #paralympicgames2024 #Paris2024 #empathyeverywhere

This was the closing competition of the Paralympics, the last medals, the last boost for these visually impaired athletes and some on wheelchairs during the most grueling Paralympic Sport - The #Marathon. As an enthusiast runner, I could really appreciate the effort and the speed. Only the #Paris2024 metro helped me to keep up the pace 🏃♂️ 🚇 🏃♂️ At TTEC, while we’re not on a track or field, we strive to create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. The Paralympics reminded me that true strength lies in diversity—recognizing and elevating the unique abilities of every individual. Inclusion isn’t just something we talk about; it’s something we live every day. By embracing diverse perspectives, we build solutions that are richer, more innovative, and empathetic. It’s not only about serving our clients but doing it better because we value every contribution. The athletes’ drive to push beyond their limits is a powerful reminder of leadership—creating opportunities, empowering others, and fostering environments where everyone can succeed. Inclusion is our way forward—because when everyone is included, everyone wins. 🌍🤝 #Paralympics2024 #Inclusion #Diversity #Leadership #CustomerExperience #TTEC

Excitement is in the air as the Paris Olympics 🇫🇷 2024 kicks off tonight! 🌎🎉🏊♀️ The world’s greatest athletes are set to inspire us with their incredible performances, fostering a sense of unity as we cheer for our countries. 🇺🇸 But beyond the buzz, let’s reflect on something deeper: What if we didn’t just watch greatness but actively worked to create it in our own lives? Here are some questions to ponder: 1️⃣ How can we extract elements of greatness in ourselves, others, and our communities during this time? 2️⃣ Have we become mere spectators in our own journey to greatness? This is our chance to reconnect and realign ourselves—mind, body, and spirit—and get back in the game. 🎯 Let the athletic excellence we witness serve as a mirror, reflecting the qualities we aspire to embody. We may not all be Olympic athletes 🏐, but we can still pursue greatness in our own areas of influence. 🏆 Remember, we’re all part of a team and have our own “game” to play. Take your personal development seriously. 🏋️♀️💪 Don’t just sit on the bench—get in the game! 👊🔈 Let the City of Lights rekindle the spark within you.🔥 #Olympics2024 #ParisOlympics2024 #Athletes #SportCounselor #PursuitOfGreatness #LetTheGamesBegin

The Paralympics 2024: Overcoming Limits Through Strength of Spirit And Performance As we prepare for the 2024 Paralympics, so too is the world getting ready for a remarkable showcase of talent, resilience, and willpower. Scheduled to be held in Paris, this event is not only a sporting affair but also a cause that challenges what it means to face difficulties and break boundaries. The changeover is a pivotal event in theater, as individual conditions vary, methods of accessibility, snow-covered terrain, and high-tech ground are prepared, inspiring people who are thirsty for new challenges. For the USA, this year’s games provide an excellent opportunity to go out, withdraw, and gather some of the most dedicated and talented para sportsmen, who will be a good role model for the young generations. At a time when the ideas of equality and diversity have confidence among the most discussed ideas in the world, the Paralympics 2024 become an evidence of the strength of humanity. The occasion also brings to the fore the idea that true greatness is not only dependent on physical bodily organs but also requires inner courage and determination over every setback that one suffers. As we look for the games to come, let’s congratulate all people who are inspiring others and reshaping the meaning of success all through. #Paralympics2024 #Paris2024 #AdaptiveAthletes #InclusiveSports #BreakingBarriers #Resilience #ParaAthletes #SportForAll #DiversityAndInclusion #InspiringAthletes #OvercomingChallenges #TeamUSA #GlobalSports #Empowerment #Unstoppable #SportsInspiration #EqualOpportunity #InclusionMatters #RoadToParis #AthleteInspiration

Post title: "Beyond the Spotlight: The Unseen Reality of Paralympians" We stand and applaud during the Paralympic games, we cheer for their victories, and laud the brands that support them. These moments create a buzz, a wave of support that seems to promise a better future for these extraordinary athletes. But what happens when the stadium lights dim, and the cheering crowds disperse? Despite numerous campaigns and government quotas, the harsh reality is that the lives of most Paralympians remain unchanged. We are quick to celebrate their successes but slow to offer them the acceptance and accommodation they genuinely deserve in our societies. The private sector, in particular, has a long way to go in this regard. Many corporate leaders have come and gone, and the river of time has continued to flow, yet the situation for our Paralympians remains stagnant. Their courage and tenacity deserve more than just applause during a sporting event; they deserve to be welcomed into all areas of life without hesitation or prejudice. I dream of a day when our society will extend its support beyond the sporting arena, a day when we can sit across the table from a Paralympian without a flicker of surprise or discomfort in our eyes. Only then can we truly claim to have progressed as a society. What are your thoughts? How can we, as individuals and organizations, better support and accommodate our Paralympians? #Paralympics #Inclusion #SocietalChange #CorporateResponsibility
