Earlier this year, Simmons launched a new Leadership Model with five key competencies to foster growth and success at all leadership levels. This model outlines essential behaviors and expectations for Team Members, Leaders, and Strategic Leaders. We are proud of our Simmons leaders who go above and beyond to put people first and serve their teams well. We’re excited to continue our series, "Leading by Example," highlighting Simmons’ leaders and their exceptional commitment to leadership.
Watch below as Mary Sanchez, Production Supervisor at Pet Food Emporia, showcases how her values influence her unique leadership style. My name is Mary Sanchez and I am the variety pack and cut packaging supervisor. Things that I do to inspire my team. I'm not going to ask you to do anything that I can't do. If you need help with something, there's times that I would get there out on the line, show them that I could do it. I am out on the floor first thing. I'm there greeting them. I'm saying, hey, this is what we need from today. This is what I need, you know, for tomorrow. We need to make sure that. Document this or we need to make sure that everything is in order for that and people respond to that being successful at Simmons and what I do to add to those qualities is the communication and listening part of it and then going around and I learned so much from all the different departments that I can implement those into how we run. I'm a VP and a cut packaging and sorting. So I have all a little bit of everything and you just through years of watching or learning from somebody. Hey, try this method. Just let them know, hey, let's try this, you know and it seems to work. The best advice pass along would be to just be positive, be personal. And I'm not saying you have to be in their business, but just hey, how are you today? You know, that matters to people. If you say good morning everyday to your crew, that's something and then you know, listen, listen to them.
Earlier this summer, the Western Benton County Partnership (WBCP) received a grant from the Arkansas Community Foundation to enhance and expand in-home childcare services. In a partnership with Early Childhood Solutions (ECS), WBCP is opening six new family childcare homes across Western Benton County, creating 60 essential spots for working families. We're excited to support this initiative and congratulate Condace Hoenshell, family of a Simmons team member as one of the new childcare providers. We appreciate her family's commitment to creating safe and welcoming childcare in Western Benton County.
Simmons is proud to be one of the local businesses supporting the mission of the Western Benton County Partnership.
