Domestic violence is more than a personal issue; it’s a societal crisis that impacts millions of people each year. This month, let’s take a moment to reflect on how we can actively support survivors and prevent further violence. Breaking the cycle of abuse starts with awareness, but it doesn’t end there. We need to foster safe environments where survivors feel heard, believed, and supported. Whether through volunteering, donating, or simply educating ourselves and others, each of us can make a difference. Remember, everyone deserves to feel safe and valued in their relationships. If you or someone you know is in need, reach out—there are resources available to help. Let’s commit to being part of the solution, not just during this month, but every day.

The recent devastation caused by the LA fires serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of community, resilience, and leadership during times of crisis. As we witness the strength of people coming together to support one another, it’s clear that empathy and action are essential. In moments like these, businesses have a unique opportunity to step up and show their commitment to supporting their employees and the broader community. Offering resources for mental health, crisis management, and general support can help ensure that teams feel cared for and resilient in the face of such overwhelming events. Beyond internal support, there are other ways organizations and individuals can contribute to the relief efforts. Whether it’s donating supplies, volunteering time, or raising awareness of available resources, every action counts. Now is the time to lean into our collective strength and support those who need it most. If you are able, below is list of families who have been affected and their Go Fund Me information. https://lnkd.in/eK82pjsP

Our communities do well, when they can. Our friends, children, family & neighbours do well when they can. It's rarely the "will" or motivation alone that changes our "situations". Sometimes it's friendship, mentorship, simply practicing or sharing a new skill and overcoming an obstacle that makes a difference. Holding space with love and kindness, at times, is the only solution. Teaching and coaching our community about BarterPay is boosting our communities as a whole. Have you considered supporting local business communities and opening up your network? Your resilience and good fortune can shine a light on local charities with our Barter Pay It Forward Foundation and local entrepreneurs when we cooperate and support each other. Let's chat today - what's on your "to do" list? I'd like to lighten your load as your BarterCoach: Bonnie 587-404-8989

EM community! Let me tell you about an amazing VOAD called Project:Camp. They set up pop-up, trauma-informed day camps for children in areas that have been affected by disaster. They are currently on the ground in New Mexico setting up one such camp in response to the wildfires. Unlike most NGOs, they put children's care and well-being at the forefront of response. I love their mission and happy to be getting more involved. If you like their mission too and, as an EM professional, can see they may be able to aid your communities post disaster, I have a few asks: 1) Please like/share this post to boost their visibility 2) Please reach out if you are or know of the right POC in your community to begin building a relationship before disaster strikes. 3) Please consider donating
