Today, I came across an important message in our gents' toilets – the introduction of our Mental Health First Aiders at Utilize Plc. It’s a small reminder that mental health is not something we should hide or feel ashamed of. At our workplace, we’re committed to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health, and ensuring that everyone knows they have a safe space and support when they need it. Together, we are fostering a culture where it’s okay to not be okay, and where reaching out for help is seen as a strength, not a weakness. Let’s keep the conversation going – because mental health matters, every day. A big shoutout to all our Mental Health First Aiders; Amy Gorbell, Angela Stevens, Anna Gonzalez, Erne Bataitis, Hannah Carter, James Mansell, Kayleigh Skerritt, Lucy Johnson, Marcin Kamieniak, Nick Crawford, Paul Ellis and Tracy Bartlett ACIPD #MentalHealthAwareness #WorkplaceWellbeing #BreakingTheStigma #SupportEachOther

🌎 Today, we celebrate World Mental Health Day, as a reminder that psychological wellbeing matters and should be openly discussed without being stigmatised. Instead, awareness and kindness are key to creating a healthy environment where everyone is supported. 🌎 We're proud to have a team of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) across the business who serve as a valuable first point of contact for individuals in need. Our Mental Health First Aiders play a crucial role in providing initial support and assistance to individuals who may be experiencing mental health challenges. Their primary aim is to offer emotional and psychological support, just as a traditional first aider provides physical first aid in a medical emergency. Yesterday, I completed a refresher Mental Health First Aid course at St. John’s Ambulance 🌟 Working for a company that prioritises mental health is incredibly important to me. Did you know that 1 in 4 people in England will experience a mental health problem each year? That’s why I’m committed to promoting good mental health in the workplace and providing the right support to those who need it. My biggest takeaway from the course was recognising the power of reaching in. Instead of waiting for someone with poor mental health to reach out, let’s be proactive. When you notice someone acting differently than usual, reach in—show empathy, listen, and offer support. I’m excited to put these ideas into practice, fostering open conversations and promoting positive mental health at work. Let’s make a difference together and break down the stigma! 💪 #MentalHealthMatters #SupportiveWorkplace #MHFA #IPP #PoweredByPeople
