Setting goals doesn’t have to be just about work. Personal goals are also important and can be much more rewarding 👏 I set myself a challenge in August that I would cycle 2000km on my spin bike (in the garage) during September to raise money for Macmillan . This is the equivalent of cycling form Leeds to Gibraltar (as the crow flies) and would mean that I should be cycling 65km per day for 30 days. The thing is, I’ve only ever managed 50km in one cycle before so this really was a stretching target. What did I achieve/learn: * I pushed every day to do more than my target of 65km * I managed to do 100km on day 2 * I achieved my fundraising target by day 6 💰 * I took advice from my supporters * This was needed and Chamois Cream is 🤩 * I kept everyone up to date with progress *This helped with support and motivation *Also prevented loads of Individual updates * I achieved 128km in one day *My longest cycle ever 🥇 * I didn’t have a rest day for 23 days *I stretched myself to finish earlier *I did plenty of stretching every day * I kept going for the other 7 days *You can drink more wine 🍷 *I was burning at least 1500 calories a day I’m fortunate that I currently have the time to dedicate to exercise and personal challenges. I loved smashing my goals and had some great fun pitching me against me to get the end result. If you’d like to donate to Macmillan and support my challenge, please use the link below 🙏
