Please can I ask you to reshare my post: I want to take a moment to talk about mental health. It's a topic that we don't discuss enough, but it's important that we do. Sadly, I've witnessed the devastating impact that suicide can have, with four people in previous years and three now in 2024 alone taking their own lives. I would like to make a difference, even if because of this post it helps just one person, it would of done its job. If you're struggling, please know that it's okay to reach out for help. You don't have to go through it alone. There are resources available, such as www.mind.org.uk and www.samaritans.org that can provide support. Please let's not forget to check in on each other. It takes just one minute to ask someone if they're okay and then to ask again, it could make all the difference. Let's start the conversation and support each other. #mentalhealthawareness #supporteachother #suicideprevention #samaritans #mind
its a very sad situation, I myself have had mental health issues and was basically berated by my then employer and colleagues, thankfully I came out the other side a better person, but not without problems from it, fortunately I never got to the point of no return, but I knew a few that did, one being my best friend from childhood. Its ok to talk, to tell people and share your experience/s no matter how small, it may just make the difference to someone Try and stay strong, yes its just words, but you know what, you will get through it, you, if like me, have a different outlook, a better outlook on life, try.... please try
Great post Simon. No-one should ever be embarrassed or afraid to speak out when they're having a tough time. Each and every one of us has a responsibility to get the message out there - who knows it could easily be one of us that needs support at some point. Just asking the person you're stood/sat next to right now "are you okay" (and not being afraid to ask a second time) could make all the difference.
It's such a difficult but necessary cause which needs more emphasis on solutions reconfirm recognising that every individual have there own challenges and needs.
To many ppl hold it in for fear of how ppl will look at them. I for one have found this last year hard but with help from Gary Thorne I am getting the support I need and for this I am grateful to milestone for listening and being there to talk to. I look forward to what is next in my career at milestone.
It’s ok to ask for help, however it’s vitality important that you speak to the right person first time .
So tragic to be affected by one suicide let alone the extent you have been impacted by. This is a topic very close to me personally too. I really admire your bravery in sharing this!
So Sad and well done Simon for sharing, as one life lost is one too many. 😢
I know LinkedIn is all about business, but it is also good to see someone to promoting something other than their own company! A great post and an important topic!

8moFantastic post 👏🏼 I couldn’t agree more! Having witnessed and experienced first hand the devastation suicide creates, it goes under the radar and quickly forgotten about for most people! Both professionally and personally to those directly effected, the aftermath is brutal, life changing and never ending. There is no rule book or step by step guide to dealing with this, everyone manages it as best they can in their own way. Talking and sharing your thoughts 100% will help! Whether you’re suffering with mental health yourself, or unfortunate to be someone left behind after the worst case scenario of suicide, you’re not alone! There are good people who will support you to a better place 💭 please don’t be afraid to ask for help. 🤝
