Stop cutting 10 shots into 3 seconds in your videos. The brain is good, it will pick things up. I know everyone does the quick edit to catch attention, but it needs to have intent. I’ve just seen a video about the architecture of a stately home. But the first 3 seconds had no less than 7 shots. How the hell can I appreciate the architecture of the building if I don’t have time to see it. If the content in your video isn’t good enough (which I’d argue a stately home definitely is) you’re going to lose the audience after 3 seconds anyway so why bother.

“Ok, so, what’s the deal in this whole story?”, I look at my client. He seems surprised: “you didn’t get it?”. “Nope”, I answered, “I tuned out after the first five lines when you bombarded me with all those numbers and details”. He looks worried… “that was not the intention…”. When I start working with a new client I always ask them to do parts of the presentation or pitch, so I can see and hear what works and what needs to be improved. Setting up your storyline is like building a house. Too often I listen to people who have built the roof but forgot the fundament. Sometimes it’s just about finding the balance between details, sometimes it is full demolishment and rebuilding with the existing elements. Keep in mind that your audience doesn’t know your content, an audience doesn’t even know you. So they need time to get used to you and to the info you share. See the presentation as a good and tasteful appetizer. It should be enough to be satisfied without being overloaded with content. More info? www.reinoutbosman.com

Bad case studies: - List every single deliverable - No connection between each step - Don’t mention any results or impact - Plain & unpolished visuals Good case studies: - Tell the story of the project - Only show what is relevant - Show impact & results - Impressive visuals Anything you’d add?

Sr. Content Creator | Graphic Design | Video Creation | Copywriting | Social Media Marketing | Blogging | SEO | WordPress | Storytelling
Which video stands out more to you? The second video caught my eye! Why? Because it presents a contrast to the norm. It deviates from the typical scenario where water falls into a glass. Instead, the second video features an upside-down glass with water flowing down, creating a visually intriguing and unexpected element. The element of surprise and unconventional presentation in the second video captures attention and makes it stand out compared to the familiar activity shown in the first video. To transform video 1 into video 2, follow these simple steps: 1. Open Capacut. 2. Rotate the video to an upside-down position. 3. Apply the reverse function to make the water flow down. It's a straightforward process that can add a unique and eye-catching twist to your content.
