STARLUX orders A350F and more A330neo widebodies STARLUX Airlines of Taiwan has placed a firm order for five all-new A350F freighters and three more A330neo widebody aircraft. The agreement was signed at the Singapore Airshow by KW Chang, Chairman of STARLUX Airlines and Christian Scherer, CEO of the Commercial Aircraft business of Airbus. “STARLUX Airlines has continuously nurtured the cargo market since its inception, capitalising on the strategic advantages offered by Taiwan’s geographical location,” said STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai. “With this order, STARLUX will become the first Taiwanese airline to operate the next-generation A350F widebody freighter. In an era of climate change, the A350F has unbeatable efficiency in terms of fuel burn, CO2 emissions, and economics, offering significant energy-saving and carbon reduction benefits. It not only meets customer requirements for carbon reduction but also aligns with STARLUX’s ESG plan to achieve zero emissions by 2050. Additionally, the three new A330neos will strengthen our fleet advantage and provide greater flexibility for passenger operations.” STARLUX Airlines operates an all-Airbus passenger fleet that already includes the A350-900, A330neo and A321neo. The A350F will be operated by STARLUX Cargo on some of the world’s busiest cargo routes. Currently under development, the A350F can carry a payload of up to 111 tonnes and can fly up to 4,700nm/8,700km at significantly lower cost than any other freighter available today. The A350F will enable STARLUX Cargo to serve all heavy cargo markets around the world. Meanwhile, the additional order for the A330neo will see STARLUX Airlines continue to build one of the most modern and efficient passenger fleets, offering the highest levels of in-flight comfort. The incremental order will boost its A330neo fleet from four to seven, with the aircraft featuring a premium two-class cabin comprising 28 business class seats and 269 economy class seats. At the end of January, the latest generation A350 Family had won over 1,200 orders from 57 customers worldwide, including 50 for the A350F from nine leading cargo airlines. In the mid-size category, the A330neo Family continues to gain momentum, with nearly 300 firm orders from 28 customers. @Airbus #SGAirshow2024 #A350F #A330neo @STARLUX Airlines

The Airbus A330neo, a midsize jet that had a slow start, is now gaining significant traction among airlines, offering passengers quieter flights and potentially reducing the likelihood of being stuck in a middle seat. At the recent Farnborough Air Show in July, Virgin Atlantic took center stage by showcasing one of its new A330neos and announcing an order for an additional seven aircraft, bringing its total to 19. This marks a significant shift for Virgin Atlantic, which has traditionally been a Boeing customer, particularly known for its iconic 747s. The A330neo's appeal lies in its modern design, improved fuel efficiency, and enhanced passenger comfort. Virgin Atlantic is not the only airline turning to the A330neo. Other major carriers, including Cathay Pacific, Delta, Condor, Malaysia Airlines, and TAP Air Portugal, have also placed large orders for this aircraft. Cathay Pacific alone has committed to 30 A330neos, with options for an additional 30, signaling strong industry confidence in this jet. The growing popularity of the A330neo suggests that airlines are increasingly prioritizing aircraft that offer both economic and environmental benefits, as well as a better passenger experience. The delayed take-off of the A330neo, initially hindered by various challenges, now appears to be paying off. For passengers, this means the introduction of quieter cabins and improved seating arrangements, which are likely to enhance the overall flying experience. The rising adoption of the A330neo across multiple airlines indicates a shift towards more efficient, mid-sized aircraft in the global aviation market, reflecting a broader trend of airlines seeking to modernize their fleets with versatile and passenger-friendly jets.

A few weeks ago, Iberia officially became the new global launch customer for the Airbus A321XLR, thanks to Aer Lingus’ ongoing pay dispute with pilots. There’s now an additional update, as it looks like we now know what to expect onboard Iberia’s new long haul, narrow body jets. Iberia will be first airline to fly Airbus A321XLR In June 2019, Airbus formally launched the Airbus A321XLR, which will be the world’s longest range narrow body jet. This aircraft is based on the Airbus A321 family of aircraft, but features even more incremental range improvement over the A321neo and A321LR (which already have more range than the A321ceo). Airlines have ordered hundreds of these jets, as they look for long range, low capacity jets, that can open up all kinds of new markets. The first A321XLR is expected to be delivered to airlines in Q3 2024. https://lnkd.in/g7NiXmEE

T'way Air Co. announced on Thursday that it will gradually introduce five new Airbus A330-900 Neo aircraft starting next year. T’way recently signed a lease agreement with global aircraft lessor Avolon for five A330-900 Neos and is in negotiations to acquire five more by the end of 2027. The A330-900 Neo is considered an environmentally friendly aircraft, with a longer range and higher fuel efficiency than the existing A330 CEO series, helping to reduce carbon emissions. It will feature Airbus' latest cabin interior design, with wider seats for improved passenger comfort. It will seat about 340 passengers, including business class. T’way plans to deploy the A330-900 Neo on medium- to long-haul routes to Europe, the United States and Canada. The airline plans to continue modernizing its fleet to help reduce carbon emissions and enhance its market competitiveness. “With the introduction of the A330-900 Neo, which is more fuel-efficient and sustainable, we will provide better service and reliability. We will continue to offer reasonable fares and services, as well as expand our role as an eco-friendly airline,” said Jeong Hong-geun, CEO of T’way. #twayair #aviation 2024-09-28 #

A321neo Takes Off: Airbus' Workhorse Remains the Airline Favourite! Airbus' A321neo continues to dominate the narrowbody jet market, outpacing its smaller sibling, the A320neo, for the fifth month in a row. This trend highlights the ongoing preference for the larger variant among airlines. Delivery Numbers Tell the Story Airbus themselves reported strong delivery figures for the A321neo. In May 2024, they delivered 22 A321neos compared to just 19 A320neos. This trend extends to the year so far, with a total of 113 A321neo deliveries versus 95 A320neos. This preference isn't new. The A321neo has been the more popular choice for several years, exceeding A320neo production in both 2022 and 2023. #Airport #Airline #A321neo #EASA #AviationIndustry #OEM #Airbus #AviationOasis https://lnkd.in/en6k3dJt
