Stripe gets back into crypto This is great to see and while initially this is only for payments with USDC, I think it sends a strong signalling effect to the market given Stripe's brand. This will also create a normalising effect for crypto as a payment method, even for those people that won't be using it in the early stages. In April, Stripe announced it would enable merchants to begin accepting crypto payments again, after dropping cryptoacceptance from its offering in 2018. But this time, it was allowing payments only in stablecoin (specifically, USDC). Six months later, Stripe is acquiring Bridge, which enables companies to move, store, and accept stablecoins. While Stripe also has a crypto onramp product, it's pretty clear that when it comes to real payment flows (not just purchasing crypto), Stripe is all in on stablecoins. Stablecoin-based payments on blockchain present an excellent alternative to complex XB payment systems like SWIFT. I'm excited to see how Stripe will grow this business and how acceptance rates and FX fees will come down in the near future. https://lnkd.in/ezaaWxnk
