A few months ago, we introduced the Tusker Car Benefit Scheme as part of our Simply Rewards programme, and the response from our team has been fantastic! This initiative gives employees the opportunity to drive a brand-new electric or plug-in hybrid car through a simple salary sacrifice scheme.
Emma, one of our colleagues, recently made the switch to EV and shared her thoughts on the experience 🔽

Just had a really interesting conversation with a senior leader in FM around their end of year bonus.
Now we're into 2025 you're either due to receive your yearly bonus imminently or at the very least that date should be creeping over the horizon for you.
However, this individual didn't have a clue about the rough range of what they could expect come bonus time. In their view, the amount they would get would be down to the mood their boss would be in that week.
I get bonuses are often listed as "discretionary" but is this common? Would you really not have a clue about the ballpark figure that you're working towards even at this stage of the year?
Would it not be a powerful motivator in the late stages of the year or a strong tool for retention to highlight what someone in your team may be due if they keep up their level of performance?
What do you think? Do you have any idea how much you can be expecting this year?

The True Cost of Underpaying Employees
Fair wages aren’t just a moral imperative—they’re a smart business strategy. The recent strike at Park City Mountain, as detailed by CNBC, highlights what happens when workers feel undervalued. Long lift lines and frustrated guests led to a sharp drop in Vail Resorts’ stock price.
This isn’t just about one company or one industry. When employees are fairly compensated, they’re more motivated, productive, and loyal—directly impacting the customer experience and, ultimately, the bottom line.
Let’s remember: Investing in your people is investing in your success. Fair pay isn’t an expense; it’s an opportunity to build a stronger, more resilient business.

Block your diaries! I will be hosting a webinar to talk about The Electric Car Scheme's new offering - used electric cars.
Used electric cars are now available to lease from The Electric Car Scheme - making the switch to electric the cheapest it has ever been! In the UK, there's a strong demand for electric vehicles (EVs), but the main challenge has always been affordability. Our research has found that for more than two-thirds of people, the cost is the biggest obstacle to owning an EV.
But here's the great part: Our new and improved selection of used EVs makes driving electric more affordable than ever before! You could get an EV for less than £200 a month. Right now, you can find a Nissan LEAF starting at just £186 a month on our website. And that price includes maintenance and breakdown cover.

American Seating Company is excited to announce that United Auto Workers Local 135 has voted to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement with the company. The partnership was established 75 years ago when Local 135 was certified to represent American Seating employees in 1949.
American Seating’s success has been built on its American-manufactured products and commitment to its union workforce. This new three-year contract introduces several key improvements that benefit Local 135 members and provide for the ongoing stability and success of the company and its workforce.
We are proud to celebrate this milestone and look forward to continued success in this partnership, a collaboration that has helped American Seating to lead in the public transit seating and securement systems for North America’s bus, rail and motorcoach markets.

Top 5 Things to Consider Before Selecting HR/Payroll/Insurance Services
The end of the year is one of the busiest times—not just for the insurance world with policy renewals and businesses setting up for a January 1st start, but especially in the HR and payroll space. Now is the perfect time to make those critical changes—whether it's because your current payroll provider missed the boat on unemployment taxes in new states where you’ve hired remote employees or you've outgrown a basic payroll system and need something more robust.
Here are the top things to consider before making your move:
Cost and ROI – Are their solutions scalable and able to fit your budget while delivering real returns? Investing in the right partner now could mean major cost savings in the long run. Don’t get stuck paying for services that aren’t designed to grow with you.
Compliance Expertise – With ever-evolving employment regulations and tax requirements, especially for businesses expanding into new states or hiring remote workers, can they keep you compliant and avoid costly mistakes? Compliance isn’t just about following the rules; it’s about protecting your business from risk.
Technology Integration – Will their systems integrate seamlessly with your current operations to streamline processes? A strong tech platform should make your life easier. If your current provider isn’t keeping up with your tech needs, it may be time to look for a solution that can.
Customization – Do they offer tailored services that fit your business's unique challenges? One-size-fits-all services often fall short when your business has specific requirements. Finding a provider who understands your needs now can save you from outgrowing their services later.
Reputation and Experience – Look for a provider with a proven track record, especially during this busy time when switching providers can be tricky.
With year-end quickly approaching, now’s the time to ensure your HR, payroll, and insurance systems are equipped to handle your growing needs. Don’t wait until you’re left scrambling in January!

Salary sacrifice schemes are nothing new, but in recent years the popularity of electric car salary sacrifice schemes has absolutely skyrocketed. According to research conducted by the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association, the prevalence of salary sacrifice schemes grew by more than 40% in 2023 when compared to the previous year, with over 90% of cars available through these initiatives being fully electric.
That’s not all, further studies have revealed that 68% of small-medium businesses offer electric car salary sacrifice schemes, with 56% planning to launch such an initiative within the next year.
If you’re a business owner interested in implementing an electric car salary sacrifice scheme, we can support you every step of the way. Get in touch to find out more: https://lnkd.in/euJPGqij#wyre#salarysacrifice#electriccars
As EV salary sacrifice schemes are linked to employers, the EV is classed as a company car (rather than personal lease) and business mileage reimbursement rate is currently 9ppm (HMRC AER). If provided with a company car, SS or perk, do you enforce use of the company car for business mileage? And if not, do you cap reimbursement rate to 9ppm?
Thank you so much for sharing this. We are delighted to hear you and your team are enjoying your new employee benefit! And thank you Emma for the kind words, we hope you are loving your brand new car. Best wishes, Tusker
