Sinclair Wins 29 National Capital Area Emmy Awards We are pleased to announce WBFF FOX 45 in Baltimore and WJLA-TV in Washington DC have been honored by The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Science with a total of 29 Capital Emmy awards. The Capital Emmys honor the best journalism in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC television and media community. WBFF was nominated for 39 awards, and won 17, with Project Baltimore, the special investigative reporting unit of WBFF, taking home 7 of those awards. Jerald Fritz Executive Vice President for Strategic and Legal Affairs at ONE Media Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Sinclair, Inc., has announced his retirement. After an illustrious career spanning more than 55 years in and around the broadcast and communications industries, Fritz will step down on July 1. We honor the incredible legacy of Jerry, one that has impacted our entire industry. WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach-Florence today began broadcasting with NextGen TV, a revolutionary new digital broadcast technology. NextGen TV service is already on the air in more than 70 cities across the country, reaching three out of four viewers. Viewers can learn more about NextGen TV by visiting www.WatchNextGenTV.com, which offers a guide listing cities currently carrying the service, as well as links to available NextGen TV set models. Antenna viewers without NextGen TV sets can simply rescan their TV sets to ensure uninterrupted service. Rescan instructions are available at fcc.gov/rescan.
