When choosing an event venue, don't overlook sound quality. How everything sounds in the space is crucial, and that's where your DJ's expertise comes in. Experienced DJs know that less can be more. To achieve even sound distribution at a lower volume, multiple perimeter speakers spaced around the room work best. Relying on just two speakers at one end of a long room often means cranking up the volume, causing issues for attendees and potentially damaging the speakers. For irregularly shaped rooms, sound doesn't always travel consistently. Adding extra speakers can ensure even distribution throughout the space. When you arrive at the venue, there’s things to do to set everyone up to win Many people assume events just run smoothly on their own Anyone who works at or coordinates events can tell you that’s not the case As a speaker, to make sure an event goes off as smooth as possible You need to be connected to your coordinator, the event staff, and double check everything - Get there early - Walk the room - Test the mics (yours and other mics) - Test any A/V In short, get there early, test everything, and make sure you are ready to rock BONUS: If you will be introducing people, ask the pronunciation of their name off stage before you announce them on stage
