With the proposed amendments to the Consumer Protection Act, which are already under consideration in the National Assembly, Bulgaria is one step away from introducing a significantly stronger and more effective mechanism for the protection of consumers' collective rights. The amendments aim to modernise and extend the scope of the existing legal framework to cover new areas of protection and at the same time introduce swifter and more efficient judicial procedures. https://lnkd.in/dykR9CC5

High Court ruled search invalid due to lack of reasons provided. Goods to be released in 3 weeks, refunds in 8 weeks.: The High Court considered a challenge to a search and seizure order under the UPGST Act. The court found non-compliance with the mandatory provision of Section 67 as the Joint Commissioner did not provide the necessary "reasons to believe" for the search. The State authorities' explanation of discrepancies in forms was deemed insufficient. Consequently, the authorization for the search was invalidated. All proceedings stemming from the illegal search were annulled, goods and documents seized were to be released within three weeks, and any deposited amounts were to be refunded within eight weeks. http://dlvr.it/T8r8fg #HighCourt #SearchAndSeizure #LegalCase #UPGSTAct #Compliance

Consumer Bulling- Offer Period is a big earning zone for E Commerce. Can law provide speedier relief to the aggrieved? What is concerning is that during these offer there may be selling of Defective/Refurbished product to the consumers without actually disclosing it at a high discounted price. Now, this is being intentionally done - may be called as “Deceptive”. Now, if we analyse Criminal Law- this may be covered under particular category of “Criminal Offence”. May it can give ground for Civil suit and initiation of Criminal prosecution simultaneously? What’s your legal opinion on this? Do comment and share your opinion. #consumerrights#consumerlaw#probono#lawyers#advocates
