🎉 ORTOVOX achieves FAIR WEAR FOUNDATION LEADER STATUS  🎉 We are thrilled to announce that ORTOVOX has been awarded Leader Status for the fifth time after the 2023 Performance Check by the Fair Wear Foundation (#FWF). 🔎 The newly established risk management system evaluates various factors along the #supplychain, including geographical factors, risks from the textile sector and sourcing-related challenges. We therefore not only fulfil the requirements of the Act on Corporate Due Diligence Obligations in Supply Chains, but also meet the company's own standards for responsible business practices. Our efforts in the areas of sourcing strategy and communication #transparency are particularly emphasised in the #ORTOVOX Performance Check by the FWF. Why do we say "pointure" for a shoe size ? The "point de Paris" is the reference in Europe for shoe sizes (except the UK). The unit was invented by French shoemakers in the early 1800s. The difference between 2 sizes is being measured in "Paris point", corresponding to 0,667 cms. So if your "pointure" (shoe size) is 37, it does not mean that you foot measures 37 cms but 0,667 X 37.

I am still a bit confused as to why De beers would be competing with its own upstream customers who buy roughs from them, polish them and sells them to wholesalers and retailers. Why is it ok for De beers to compete with customers of its customers ? They are doing it in India and expanding in China. Would Al Cook care to explain this clear conflict of interest ? Apple used to have resellers and decided to open Apple stores. I am told that there is a history to De beers’ entry into the retail space with LVMH but that partnership was dissolved. De Beers is a mining company. That should be its primary focus. Mining is not a glamorous business. Maybe diamond retail is a nice diversion but I would think De beers management should focus on dealing with stimulating demand for its rough. At best De beers jeweller is a diversion. And not a very profitable one, I believe. If De beers jeweller did not exist would consumers have less choice to buy mined diamonds ? The answer has to be No. There are 7000 Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group store and many LVMH and Richemont shingles Chinese consumers can buy from. Am I missing something ?
