Did you know that Sipral is behind the facades of some of the most modern buildings? For students who don’t know us yet, we’ve created a short video to introduce our company and highlight what we’re proud of. This video was made specifically for the online Readycon conference, where we connect with final-year students. Thanks to our long-term collaborations with high schools and universities and initiatives for young talent, we understand how important it is to show what we can create together. ▶️ Watch our video and discover the world of Sipral! #WeAreSipral #Readycon #Architecture #ProStudenty #StudentLife

As we celebrate World Architecture Day 2024 with the theme of Empowering the next generation to participate in urban design, I cannot help but reflect on my motivation behind my PhD research on Complex Urban Integration. My research explores how architects can address the socio-spatial integration of migrants, tackling some of the most pressing challenges our cities face today. Architecture isn’t just about designing buildings—it’s about shaping cities that are sustainable, inclusive, and equitable. Through my research, I aim to contribute to the knowledge that helps marginalised communities find their place in urban environments, ensuring our future cities are designed for everyone. #WorldArchitectureDay #UrbanIntegration #PhDResearch #InclusiveCities #SustainableArchitecture #ArchitectsForChange

Next week, I have the honor of sharing our insights on carbon based structural design for building Paris Proof at the Forum #ANATOMY_OF_TIMBER /Building, organized by Delft University of Technology and Technische Universität Darmstadt, BK-wood group. 🌍 Since approximately 50-60% of the total amount of building materials is formed by the building structure, its contribution is substantial. Cutting carbon emissions in the structural design is crucial to meet the Paris Proof target values. An important step in sustainable material use is to monitor the environmental impact of the construction materials used. By designing smart buildings by using fewer raw materials and using sustainable materials the ambitious goals of the Paris-proof 2050 could be achieved. Looking forward to see you! #Parisproof #Sustainablestructuraldesign
BK-Wood.nl Wood, wood-based, modified-wood and wood-composite materials are suitable for almost all structural elements and components of a building.
Last chance to register! forum #ANATOMY_OF_TIMBER /-Building TU Delft, 15th and 16th October 2024 link: https://lnkd.in/ek4cCDb6 This two-day event will explore all scales of timber in architecture, from the material to products, new construction methods, and buildings. It will bring together a unique gathering of architects, landscapers, urbanists, engineers, researchers, educators, master carpenters, bamboo and mass-timber specialists - all at the forefront of their fields. Among the distinguished lecturers are Prof. #Felix_Waechter and Prof. #Alex_de_Rijke (chair of timber architecture TU Delft), #Richard_Maddock from Foster + Partners, Prof. Mario Rinke Rinke and Prof. #Stephan_Birk along with around 30 other experts from various disciplines. The Forum will delve into the #anatomy_of_timber with a wide array of topics ranging from building physics and moisture behavior to robotic fabrication and life cycle assessment. The presentations and discussions will offer insights into everything from detailed #craftsmanship to the complexities of #large_scale_timber_construction and environmental impact. The program is designed to foster meaningful interactions among participants, with opportunities to meet, discuss, and reflect on the ideas presented during breaks and informal gatherings. Whether you’re interested in the latest advancements in timber design, curious about #sustainable and #circularbuilding practices, or eager to connect with leading experts across disciplines, this forum promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking experience—a chance to widen your network and knowledge in the field of #Sustainable_Building_with_Timber. Prepare to be part of an international community dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in timber construction. 📢 What makes a square? 📍 Place des Remparts, Esch-sur-Alzette (LU) In a wonderful collaboration, the Architecture Students Association and Masters of Architecture students at the University of Luxembourg, with support from the City of Esch, organized an engaging event for Neighbours’ Day. The activity, held at the heart of Place des Remparts, brought students and local stakeholders together. Through informal conversations, they explored ideas and shared perspectives about the junction, fostering a sense of community and collaborative urban design. This approach is crucial for their design studio project, where they are exploring concepts like how squares foster a sense of belonging and conviviality. The students are examining how this particular junction can be transformed into a square, considering important elements such as housing dynamics, stakeholders, and mobility. They aim to incorporate intricate parameters of Place des Remparts, addressing gaps in Esch’s existing mobility plan by involving these matrices comprehensively.
