The Eve Appeal is the leading UK national charity funding research and raising awareness into the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. We were set up to prevent gynaecological cancers and save lives by funding ground-breaking research focused on developing effective methods of risk prediction, earlier detection and developing screening for all of the five gynae cancers. We have played a crucial role in providing seed funding, core infrastructure funding and project funding in addition to campaigning to raise awareness. The world-leading research that we fund is ambitious and challenging but our vision is simple: A future where gynaecological cancers are a disease of the past.

Giving Tuesday! Don’t let the IRS be your biggest beneficiary. Maximize your tax deductions. Charitable giving is something near and dear to my heart. As a kid, I was often on the receiving end of other people’s generosity. Most years, Santa would have skipped my house if it wasn’t for the generosity of others and our local church. So, paying it forward means a lot to me. Along with giving to my own favorite charities, I love helping others give as well. And there are several strategies you can use - to not only maximize your tax deductions, but also ensure the charity receives the GREATEST benefit from your generosity. That commitment is strengthened when we can support local hospitals and patients in need. Through our Powering the Future Fund, Laurentis donated $10,000 to the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre at Lakeridge Health Oshawa to help purchase much-needed medical equipment to improve cancer patients' care. The donation will go towards the purchase of a breast board and neck rest for Lakeridge Health’s Oshawa Hospital. Positioning devices like these are used in radiation therapy to improve accuracy in delivering radiation to the tumor site, enhance patient comfort, and reduce the risk of complications.
