This year will mark 10 years of Sistah Space: #ADecadeofDedication. To commemorate this occasion we have launched a fundraising campaign to ensure we meet our goals for the next chapter at Sistah Space. We are a small grassroots, unfunded charity so donations contribute massively to the work we are able to do. New Voices aims to raise $60,000 through the end of the year to support our efforts to and through the election. Collectively, we’re in an ongoing battle against the normalization of violence and suffering against us and our people. We cannot continue supporting institutions that do not offer us sustainable avenues for creating safe and thriving communities. We look to each other, while working within our limiting electoral systems, to co-create conditions that enable us to thrive. New Voices is an organization that supports and builds power for and alongside Black women, Black queer folks, and Black marginalized people. Fortifying the grassroots nature of our work requires support at a community level. We do not just rely on well-resourced institutions or independently wealthy donors. Regardless of the outcome of the Presidential Election, our communities will be in an ongoing fight for our lives and livelihoods. Impactful investments come in all shapes and sizes – $10 monthly donations, a one-time gift to the organization, or a collective gift with contributions from values-aligned friends and family. Donate at newvoicesrj.org or through the link in our bio.

Check out the post below for exciting updates from The B.L.U.E. House!
Hello! I know that the page has been quiet lately, but we have been very busy in the background and have made some significant progress on getting The B.L.U.E. House closer to our goals! We now have an amazing Board of Directors that has been meeting regularly to help establish our goals and priorities. Our Board of Directors consisits of professionals with vast experience across multiple fields, and The B.L.U.E. House is so grateful for the ways that they have already been able to contribute to the cause. While we do not have a physical location at this time, we will be working to establish outreach efforts in the community while we raise the funds needed to create the drop-in center that we have been dreaming of. We recently created a Venmo account for the business, and are encouraging anyone who is willing to donate to use the QR code in the image below to find us. Every donation, despite the size, gets us closer to our goal of providing comprehensive services to adult survivors of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation, and those at risk within the seven-county metro area of Minnesota. Another exciting update is that we have completed our application for 501c3 status, and once it has been reviewed, it will be ready to submit!

Did you know? Black households donate a higher share of their wealth than white households. African American families have—more than any other racial group—contributed the largest portion of their wealth to charity. According to a report by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Black households give 25% more of their income annually than white households, and nearly two-thirds of African-American households donate to organizations and causes, totaling $11 billion each year. This statistic is notable because of the racial wealth gap that puts African Americans significantly behind other racial groups. According to research from the Urban Institute, the average white man earns $2.7 million over a lifetime, while the average Black man earns $1.8 million and the average Hispanic man earns $2.0 million. Despite this gap, Black households continue to prioritize giving. At Redstart Creative, we are inspired by the generosity and resilience of Black communities and are committed to supporting organizations that make a difference. #BlackPhilanthropy #Community #RedstartCreative #BlackExcellence #WealthGap #NonProfit #BaltimorePrintShop #CertifiedWomenOwned #PrintMarketing #DigitalMarketing #CommunityOutreach #SmallBusinessBranding #MarylandNonProfits #BaltimoreNonProfits

Here’s another equity issue in philanthropy: Black households donate a higher share of their wealth than white households. On average, Black donors give 25% more of their income annually than white households, and two-thirds of African American households donate to organizations and causes, totaling $11 billion each year. Read more at: https://lnkd.in/gg72VEeV Most current philanthropy models are rooted in hoarding wealth gained from exploitation; how can we move towards truly grassroots models rooted in equity principles like mutual aid and community care?

This Giving Season is more than a time for generosity, it’s a moment to shape the future. Your support fuels groundbreaking initiatives like the ARC Project (Automated Recognition of missing Children), leveraging biometric clustering to compare images from sex ads with those of missing children, empowering law enforcement to take swift, informed action. It also drives our Embedded Analyst Program, placing expertise directly where it’s needed most to dismantle trafficking networks. And right now, your impact can go twice as far. We have a generous donor matching all donations through the end of the year, up to $75,000. Every contribution helps us prepare for a strong launch in 2025, enabling innovation and amplifying impact.
