In the last few years I have been intentional in shifting my mental health practices to much more global public policy frameworks - leaning in and learning from practitioners in this space. Today I had the privilege in learning from experts on the topic of #decolonisingmentalhealth This is a topic I am passionate about. Looking at how inequities in the system ; the built in power manifesting these inequities continue to perpetuate the burden of disease and the health inequities of those who present with intersectionalities that are not the dominant narrative. How do we expect systems built from foundations of inequality and inequities to respond to diverse needs of populations of today without a fundamental shift of adressing the legacy of colonisation? As I always say..we cannot change what we do not acknowledge! If we want to achieve health equity we must truly flip the script.. As one of the panellists said...it is the engagement of young people as equal partners that will shift this goal post! Doing better recognises our collective desire to see better outcomes for ourselves, our families, communities and the world... I guess that is also what folks who spoke today at the Global Mental Health Action Network United for Global Mental Health webinar sought to accomplish! 🌻 #globalmentalhealth Victor Ugo, MD Global Mental Health Action Network Emma Rawson-Te Patu #Mentalhealth

The growing crisis in youth mental health calls for urgent action. It's critical to provide support for children and young people wherever they are — whether in schools, communities, or online. Digital mental health services are transforming care delivery, breaking down barriers to access, and reducing the need for acute-care treatments. Now is the time to address health inequality directly and ensure mental healthcare reaches everyone, no matter their location or circumstances. This week, our Kooth and #Soluna teams are honored to share ideas and experiences at the United Nations General Assembly Science Summit 2024. We're excited to collaborate with global leaders to explore digital innovations and public-private partnerships that are paving the way for healthier, more inclusive communities. #mentalhealthforall #healthequality #UNGA #youthmental health

🌟Tickets to our AANHPI Summit 2024 our selling quickly, so get yours today at https://lnkd.in/gAimF-2h 🌟 Join us on June 6th at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center as we bring together nonprofits, corporations, media, government, and philanthropy for “real talk” about the #MentalHealth challenges faced by the #AANHPI community, community-driven solutions, and opportunities for collective action. #DidYouKnow AANHPI adults are the racial group least likely to seek mental health services—3 times less likely than their white counterparts? Because of stigma, cultural barriers, and lack of access to culturally appropriate services, mental health and well-being look and feel different in our communities. Still, AANHPIs are often excluded from studies, narratives, and decision-making tables, and this Summit is an intervention grounded in the belief that our communities have the answers to our most daunting problems, including mental health and well-being. Systemic trauma is the collective impact of ongoing and often institutionalized discrimination, oppression, and violence experienced by marginalized groups. Systemic trauma can have deep effects on individuals and communities lives, including mental health and well-being. Here are some ways that we can support and contribute: Educate Yourself: Understand the historical and systemic challenges faced by marginalized communities. Read literature, attend workshops, and engage with diverse perspectives to build a comprehensive understanding of the issues. Listen Actively: Create spaces for individuals to share their experiences without judgment. Actively listen to their stories, concerns, and needs. Validating their experiences is a crucial step in fostering trust and connection. Amplify Marginalized Voices: Provide platforms for marginalized individuals to share their narratives. Amplify their voices in conversations, meetings, and media to promote greater visibility and understanding. Celebrate Cultural Heritage: Acknowledge and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of marginalized communities. Recognize their contributions to society and challenge stereotypes that perpetuate discrimination. Advocate for Change: Use your voice and privilege to advocate for systemic change. Support policies and initiatives that address inequities and promote social justice. Advocate for inclusive practices in workplaces, institutions, and communities. By taking these steps, you are creating a more safe, equitable and inclusive world. #mlk #mlkday #martinlutherking #straightuptreatment #mentalhealthmatters #latherapy #therapyla #mentalhealthawareness #healthymindset #losangelestherapy #losangelestherapist

Interesting insight into what the actual cause of all suffering really is… Women come to work with me for every reason under the sun: health, career, trauma, to learn how to craft holistic lifestyles, relationships - everything. Yet what I’ve learnt after working with hundreds of women, is that really, everything we struggle with comes down to one thing only: PURPOSE. What I mean by Purpose, is getting to know the Truth of Who You Are. When you operate from that place, everything falls into place. You probably see another retreat being advertised by someone you follow every day, but the Sacred Journey to Purpose day retreat I’m hosting on November 3rd @cucumber_fields in Hertfordshire will be like something you’ve never experienced, and I have a larger capacity than usual because I want lots of women to experience this, so I’ve opened this up to the wider community. I have created something beautiful, and powerful, and extremely unique in how - in just a few hours - I’ll get you to a place where you’ll truly understand yourself, your needs, your Purpose. The link to purchase your ticket is below. If this is what you need, your intuition will tell you, and if that’s you, I can’t wait to see you. Day 10 of #DwarfismAwarenessMonth Today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay, let’s remember the unique struggles faced by little people. Studies show they are more prone to depression and suicidal thoughts due to societal stigma and discrimination. It’s time to change this narrative. Support, respect, and inclusion are essential. #SupportMentalHealth #InclusionMatters

As a company that works with the Healthcare industry, we understand that you cannot treat the body without also treating the mind - they are intrinsically connected. Yet, our nation is facing a harrowing mental health crisis compounded by a devastating substance use disorder epidemic. The numbers are staggering: 🔸 48.7 million Americans struggle with substance use disorder 🔸 29.5 million have an alcohol use disorder 🔸 27.2 million have a drug use disorder 🔸 8 million suffer from both alcohol and drug abuse Here in New York, the impact has been particularly severe, with 2.8 million residents ages 12 and older battling a substance use disorder. Tragically, these disorders claimed 8,360 lives in our state over the past year alone. ❇ Cure Staffing can help address the severe substance use disorder crisis in New York by providing qualified healthcare professionals to support opioid treatment programs, inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities, remote healthcare monitoring, community outreach initiatives, and staffing needs across the continuum of addiction care. We want to be a part of the solution! #MentalHealthMatters #SubstanceUseDisorder #HealthcareStaffing #HealthcareCollaboration #RemoteHealthcareMonitoring
