The Incentive Travel Index is a joint venture of SITE and the IRF and is the undisputed, most authoritative annual research project into the nature, purpose and direction of the incentive travel industry. In 2023, SITE Chapters generated around 40% of ALL responses to the survey, bringing responses from all over the world, reflecting our geographical footprint. To date we are tracking way behind last year’s sterling performance. Without submissions from all over the world we cannot provide the detailed global analysis that has become the hallmark of ITI. As a SITE Member, please complete the survey as fast as you can! We will keep all chapter links LIVE until Friday, July 19 to ensure adequate time to complete it. Many thanks #SITEunite https://loom.ly/U1Q2eGY

Incentive Travel Index Belgium 🇧🇪 The Incentive Travel Index survey is currently LIVE but, to date, Belgium is not represented sufficiently, neither as a source market, nor as an exciting incentive travel destination as we are. We cannot let that happen because data is of prime importance to the events industry. So, I’m calling all MICE professionals active in incentive travel to help me get Belgium into the survey! Here’s a link, just for you https://lnkd.in/d6vBz7gX We all know the importance of research and the vital importance of having geographical representation, particularly from a country so central to the world of incentive travel! Thanks so much for (a) taking the survey yourself and (b) sending it onwards to incentive travel professionals in your network (in Belgium or even your contacts abroad, especially in the EMEA region).

Transport for Greater Manchester Business Travel Survey – Now Live! Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) have launched the second iteration of their Business Travel Survey! This short survey is to understand how businesses feel about the current public transport and active travel network in Greater Manchester, and what would encourage them to take up sustainable ways of traveling for their employees and business operations. Businesses must operate in Greater Manchester and participants need to be able to answer on behalf of their business. The Business Travel Survey helps TfGM to be better informed around the challenges and opportunities for businesses taking up sustainable travel options, inform the design of advice, resources and services, improve the way they communicate with businesses and to track businesses attitudes and priorities over time. For example, responses from last year’s survey helped to inform the approach for a night time transport pilot launching later this year in parts of Greater Manchester. Attention Tourism and Visitor focused businesses in South-West England – South-West How’s Business Survey In a slight change to previous months, we are running two parallel surveys in one: How’s Business South West, alongside questions this month to help us receive up-to-date feedback on how the tourism industry in Torbay and the wider Devon area has been performing and how it has been impacted by the ongoing Cryptosporidium outbreak in Brixham in the middle of May. Anecdotal feedback received suggests that businesses in the wider county area have also been impacted by the publicity surrounding the outbreak, so regardless of where businesses are based in Devon we would be grateful if you could please help us by circulating the link to your members/contacts and urge them to support, circulate and complete the survey as soon as possible to ensure a good sample of businesses. Even if business in your area hasn’t been impacted by Cryptosporidium, we would ask that you still complete the survey and submit feedback for the month, as we wish to know how the whole South West region’s tourism sector is performing. Please see the link below for May 2024. The more that take part the better and more useful the information becomes. https://lnkd.in/eiGzA7Pe The deadline for submissions is Sunday 7th July 2024. We are pleased to publish the work by Tsz Hin Hui, Dr Nadine Itani, and John F. O’Connell. The study investigates air travellers' willingness to pay (WTP) for green premiums to reduce carbon emissions from air travel. It combines the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and the Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) to estimate how much passengers would pay for environmental initiatives. A survey of 248 respondents indicates a general willingness to pay for environmental premiums, especially carbon taxes, influenced by demographics, environmental values, and awareness. Younger travellers showed the highest WTP, which decreases with ticket price. However, financial constraints and doubts about the effectiveness and credibility of these premiums limit some passengers' willingness to contribute.
