With the way the world is moving and the pressures of candidates to register to see career progression and offer companies the safety net of registered professionals, you have ECSA in 2024 (not even 1944) coming with an archaic route map that allows two windows of submission, which are followed by four months of admin. Let alone where you have a subjective evaluation process that is not conscious of realities on the ground. You can add another few months to the process. An example is people who are in the public sector that are required to remember hydraulic calculations yet their functional job is to give such work to consultants 🫣 (this is real case example of a candidate I was helping) - they final made it through at the end. And the admin within ECSA is a few months as well, seems they work in silos there at Bruma Lake office park. Candidates are better off going to get CEng to be honest.

To all ECSA Professional and Specified Category applicants, please note that the first cycle for submissions as per the Applications Calendar will close on 29 February 2024.   Applicants to ensure that all the required documents are included in the pack and submitted to engineer@ecsa.co.za, by 29 February 2024 before 17h00.   Click here to access the calendar: https://lnkd.in/djkt5RDr

Siviwe I couldn’t agree more. My experience with CEng is the admin is a few days at most!
