For this week's #Throwbackthursday, we're taking you back to one of our earliest facility's - the Uranium Purification Plant. Constructed in the early 1950s, the Uranium Purification Plant was originally designed to recover and purify depleted Uranyl Nitrate solution. The facility stopped operations in 1973 but was re-purposed for a while and was home to prototype test rigs for Thorp. The task of decommissioning began in 1990 and was completed in the early 2000s. 📷- The Uranium Purification Plant before it was demolished - taken in 2002.
