Rare & Tuned - the Lotec Ferrari Testarossa TT1000! Lotec is a tuning firm in Germany that has been around since the 60s. Over the years they have created some absolute wild machines. Starting with race cars and eventually turning their attention to manufacturing performance and aerodynamic parts for the likes of Porsche, Mercedes and Ferrari. They would also build a few one-off in-house models, like the C1000 and Sirius. Which brings us to this beast. A Testarossa with F40 vibrations, carrying a Twin Turbo V12 making 1000hp. It is one of only three examples ever built. In all reality, this car was more of a statement from the company to say "Because we can..." than anything else. As at the time, it cost 4-5 times the price of a stock Testarossa. A 90s legend - the Jaguar XJ220! The XJ220 is an interesting car. Built in collaboration with Tom Walkinshaw Racing, the mission was to create a modernized road-going version of the classic Jaguar Le Mans cars of the 60s. It was first introduced with a V12 at its core. But before production, new legislations & emissions standards pushed the team to make big changes (among other reasons), most notably swapping out the V12 for a turbocharged V6. They took note of the Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959 when considering the change. Two cars powered by lightweight, compact engines. The change, however, didn't stop the XJ220 from performing at the top of the game for a short period of time. Making 542hp, it not only hit 217.1mph to set the production car top speed record at the time, but it also set a production car record on the Nurburgring as well. Shortlived records, but impressive nonetheless. Only 275 examples were made, which was far less than Jaguar had initially planned.
