I hired a Senior UX Designer a little over a month ago. At that time, we had to turn down a handful of other amazingly talented people. On Wednesday, our team opened up another Senior UX role. I reached out to the hiring managers and asked if they'd like to revisit conversations with any of the previous finalists - they did and we had 1 person in mind. I talked to this person yesterday, made an offer and they signed last night! In less than 24 hours, we got it done. Sometimes that "we'll keep your resume on file" is actually true 😉 A good reminder that creating a positive experience and building a great relationship with people can really help - you never know when your paths may cross again! #Hiring #Recruiting #TalentAcquisition

It’s true that many companies have become quite demanding when hiring for UI artist roles, expecting a wide range of skills across various tools and fields. It can feel overwhelming, especially when the focus seems to shift more toward being a jack-of-all-trades rather than honing a specific expertise. This trend often reflects the fast-paced nature of the industry and the desire for versatile team members. However, it can lead to unrealistic expectations for candidates. What are your thoughts on how to navigate this landscape?

🚩 If you're hiring a UX designer take note -> ⚠ As a designer with over two decades of experience, I have learned that combining the roles of UX designer and front-end developer in a job posting is not the most effective approach. 🦄 Both roles require their own skillset and expertise, and trying to find a "unicorn" who can excel in both roles will likely result in less output or a higher cost. 🤲 Instead, consider hiring an amazing UX designer and an amazing front-end developer to work together. This collaboration will produce excellent results for your product. 🍽 Remember, a professional UX designer and a professional front-end developer will each have a full plate of end-to-end deliverables. Keep these roles separate in your job posting to ensure the most effective hiring process.

Hello everyone! I'm Favour, a front-end developer/UX designer passionate about creating user-centered experiences. This is my first post and I'm excited to finally join the LinkedIn community and share my thoughts and learnings with all of you! To start, I wanted to share a recent lightbulb moment: I've been living a double life as a frontend dev and UX designer, but a few days ago, I discovered that there's a name for this crossover role - UI/UX Engineer! I've been scrolling through job sites for ages, seeing "UX Engineer" pop up and thinking, "Hmm, probably just a fancy way to make UI/UX sound more complicated than it already is." I'd dismiss it, thinking it wasn't my cup of tea. Then one day, I actually read through a job description on Glassdoor and realized, wait a minute, these requirements match my skills! Curiosity piqued, I dug deeper and discovered that UX Engineering is actually a real thing! It's like being a UI/UX designer but with coding superpowers. At least now I finally have something to write on my resume in the job title section. I'm excited to learn more and connect with fellow software developers and UX Engineers out there! P.S.: Forgive my ignorance, everyone, I know it's a rookie mistake, but I'm owning up to it and embracing my newfound knowledge! #UXEngineer #UIUX #frontend #hybridrole #newtoLinkedIn #learning
