A career is a marathon, not a sprint. We're living for longer (and working for longer) so even those of us in our mid-career stages should be thinking about how to keep our careers fresh. Many people want to retire early because they feel their job keeps them from doing what they love, or living a life that allows them to focus on their wellbeing. Others are prolonging their careers because they feel retirement would have that very same effect. We all want very similar things out of life, but we found people had very different perspectives on retirement and working longer depending on their personal experiences of work. How can we create the environment where people can enjoy long, fulfilling careers that give them a sense of meaning and purpose but also promote their health? 🚨 Diversity washing: A risky game for businesses With their Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) practices, companies must avoid ‘diversity washing’ - misleadingly depicting initiatives. This can lead to lawsuits, negative coverage, and even failure to remove barriers. Dr Miriam Marra thinks that while progress has been made, effective inclusion remains a challenge and that measuring beyond visible demographics is key.
