Last week, our Senior Director of Innovation Sam Moore had the privilege of attending Legal Innovators California in San Francisco and participating in the panel "Harnessing the Power of Generative AI in Legal Practice.” When Sam debriefed with colleagues and fellow attendees Anusia Gillespie and Ian Gillespie, MBA CSPO, they all noticed a similar theme throughout the event: 🚀 junior associates need “future skills,” and they need them now. 🚀 So, what are future skills? ❓ Where do law firms currently stand when it comes to addressing this urgent need? ⏰ And, how can they take a more proactive approach? ✔ Check out Sam's blog post to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gffEPSkW #legalinnovatorscalifornia #juniorassociatetraining #futureskills #generativeai #genai

But at what cost? Am Law 100 firm leaders have questions and concerns over the development of junior associates - learning AI and its prompts over actual legal work, the leverage model of Biglaw and their profitability, and the amount of work that will be available to mid-tier firms and their ability to take on more business. The next few years shall be exciting as we see AI reshaping business how we know it. #FutureofLaw #AmLaw100 #LegalTech

👉 ALM recently released a survey examining how Am Law 100 firms are using generative artificial intelligence. ✨ Over 40 prestigious law firms are now harnessing the power of generative AI to revolutionize how legal work is done. While initially cautious, especially after incidents involving misuse, firms are finding value in AI for tasks like document analysis and draft generation. There's a consensus on the potential for AI to enhance efficiency in legal operations, though its application is approached with a focus on security and ethical considerations. The top uses for generative AI among Am Law 100 firms include document analysis, drafting legal documents, and enhancing overall efficiency in legal processes. These applications reflect a growing recognition of AI's potential to streamline operations and improve accuracy in legal work, balanced with a careful approach to security and ethical considerations. Key findings: - Many leaders in the Am Law 100 restricted early use of generative AI to functions that don't require the input of client-specific information. - Analyzing documents and generating drafts of legal and marketing material have proven to be some of the most readily applicable uses. - Firm leaders universally agree generative AI will make legal operations more efficient. Reed Smith’s David Cunningham said, “We’re spending the same amount of time on the matter but we can automate some work. We can dig deeper into issues. And then the lawyer is able to spend more time on the higher-value work for the client. We’re seeing it more as a quality play for us. Lawyers can provide more value for the same amount of time.” This is just the beginning of a legal tech revolution that promises to reshape the landscape of the legal profession. Stay tuned as we continue to explore how AI is setting new benchmarks for excellence in legal services. #Lawyers #ArtificialIntelligence #LawFirms #Innovation #LegalTech #Attorneys #AIInnovation #FutureOfLaw Read the full article here --> https://buff.ly/3wXvfoq

Disrupt, or get disrupted! The legal industry is undergoing a seismic shift, as artificial intelligence steps into the spotlight, transforming traditional practices and setting new standards for efficiency and accuracy. Imagine AI tools like GPT-4 drafting legal documents, summarizing case law, and predicting case outcomes with astonishing accuracy. These advancements not only save lawyers countless hours, but also significantly cut costs for clients, making legal services more accessible and efficient. Good thing AI’s prowess doesn’t end there-it can swiftly analyse vast amounts of data, extracting critical information that would take humans weeks to uncover. This gives lawyers room to concentrate on high value, strategic tasks, enhancing their productivity and effectiveness. After all, AI is not just about doing things faster; it’s about doing them better. It is no wonder the recurring theme at Tuesday’s ‘AI and the law’ event with A&O Shearman, Macfarlanes, Osborne Clarke, and The University of Law, as reiterated by Amy Ricketts, Patrick Grant, and John Buyers, was the need to move away from traditional mindsets and embrace mistakes. This approach allows for greater learning agility and innovation within the industry. The future of law isn’t a distant dream-it’s happening now, and it is powered by AI! #AtheniStrategy #futureofwork
