Hello world! I wanted to share a little about my final project at School Of Code, 'Build'. I spent my final month working with my excellent team, Haya M., Rikiah Williams, Mahad Mohamed, Michal Zawadzki & Wendy Richardson and we decided to create a platform to connect graduating bootcampers with charities. Here's what we made, 'Build': https://lnkd.in/ezzzzpM8 And our promo video: https://lnkd.in/ePTmAnun We worked iteratively, in a mobile-first approach with accessibility at the heart of our design choices. After selecting what would be included in our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and creating Lo-Fi then Hi-Fi designs in Figma during the first week, we got to work. In our team manifesto we decided to prioritise learning above perfection - and each spent time working on both front- and back-end. We reported to a stakeholder (thanks 💘 Tom Pauley) had a rotating project manager each day, adopted Agile principles and held regular stand-ups and retro's. In terms of tech stack, we used Javascript, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL integrated with Supabase, Tailwind CSS, Playwright, Github and Vercel. We used Trello for sprint planning and built out functionality according to User Journeys from personas we created - based on survey results from both charities and developers. It was a great learning experience working through various challenges with my awesome team. We did a great job communicating and staying positive, even during the more testing times. During our demo day we received great feedback on our presentation and product from industry partners at Methods, Experian, Iceland Foods, Utility Warehouse, NIAXO, Hippo and more. Very grateful to everyone who took time out of their days to come and hear about 'Build' and give us valuable feedback. Special thanks also to Camilla B., Nadeem Shabir, Arshi Sheikh, Loz and the School of Code team and my mentor Ira Rainey for all their support during the project - and bootcamp! I loved the experience completing this bootcamp, pushing myself in learning new skills and working with so many brilliant people. It's such an exciting field and I'm now looking to continue my learning journey with my first role in tech, so if you hear of anything, preferably around the Bristol area, let me know. I've continued to code since the bootcamp finished and have been solidifying my knowledge of the fundamentals that we covered during the sixteen weeks. I'm excited to build on what I've learnt to so far and explore new technologies and languages in the near future - I have a few different projects in mind that I can't wait to get started on. I'll continue to share my journey on here so watch this space. And good luck to all my fellow bootcampers with the job hunt!

Forget coding bootcamps! No-code/low-code platforms empower anyone to build apps. ➡️ Is it the future of app development? No-code and low-code platforms are rapidly gaining popularity, allowing anyone with a great idea to build functional apps without needing years of coding experience. A staggering 70% of businesses are already exploring no-code/low-code solutions (Forrester, 2023). Gartner predicts a whopping 66% of applications will be built using them by 2024. This trend is fueled by platforms like Webflow (websites) and Microsoft Power Apps (business applications), empowering citizen developers (business users who create apps) to bring their ideas to life 10x faster than traditional methods. Benefits: It's not just about faster development (though no-code can build basic apps in days!). These platforms offer: ✅ Accessibility: Business users can prototype and iterate on ideas without relying solely on IT, fostering innovation. ✅ Reduced Costs: Streamlined development saves time and resources compared to traditional coding. ✅ Scalability: Choose platforms that grow with your app's complexity, from simple MVPs to feature-rich solutions. Finding the Right Fit: → Complexity: No-code excels for basic apps (think internal tools or customer portals). Low code offers more flexibility for complex features. → Collaboration: Consider how the platform facilitates communication between business users and IT for a seamless development process. My take? This is a game-changer. It stimulates innovation by democratizing app development. Imagine a marketing team launching a customer loyalty app without relying solely on IT, or a small business owner building a custom inventory management tool in days. But is it the future? Not entirely. Complex applications will still require professional developers. However, no-code/low-code platforms are a powerful tool for building MVPs (minimum viable products), automating workflows, and bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution. So, what does this mean for you? Whether you're an entrepreneur, marketer, or simply someone with a great idea, explore the no-code/low-code revolution! It might just be the key to unlocking your app development potential. P.S. Follow me for more insights on leveraging technology for business growth! #lowcode #nocode #appdevelopment #coding #technology

🚀 Exciting Update! 🚀 Embarking on a mission to revolutionize driving test preparation, Cláudio Tomás , Martins D'Uamba , and I have tirelessly transformed the digital design of InaMova into a fully functional mobile app. 📱 Our objective? To provide an immersive platform for students to ace their theoretical exams through engaging lessons and realistic driving tests. Choosing React Native as our development framework was a strategic move, capitalizing on its cross-platform capabilities and the robust community support it offers. Alongside, we integrated Nativewind (Tailwind for React Native), a dynamic CSS library that played a crucial role in shaping the app's aesthetic and functional elements. Our toolbox also included GitHub for seamless version control, ensuring a collaborative and streamlined development process. Figma, our go-to design platform, allowed us to visualize, iterate, and refine the app's interface before a single line of code was written. Despite our initial learning curve with React Native, we navigated challenges with resilience. From overcoming differences in syntax to finding innovative solutions for Tailwind peculiarities, every obstacle became a stepping stone in our journey. Teamwork has been the heart of this project. Aligning diverse perspectives, Claudio, Martins, and I have worked harmoniously, proving that the right team can turn challenges into triumphs. Now, with the front-end polished and ready, we invite you to give feedback on the app's look, feel, and functionality. we gear up for the next milestone — Backend development. Thank you for being part of this exciting adventure, and here's to achieving even greater milestones together in the coming year! 🚀🎉 #InaMova #AppDevelopment #ReactNative #Nativewind #GitHub #FigmaDesign #FrontEndComplete #NextStopBackend #TeamWork #FeedbackWelcome #HappyNewYear
