Failure- a key to success? In my years as research supervisor, whenever a graduate student approached me to carry out his/her research under my supervision, my first advice was to tell him/her that a Ph.D. was an incredibly difficult undertaking, and that it was actually   not worth the effort. Few resilient and  committed students continued to convince me about their sincere interests in the subject and about how dedicated they had been in their studies and so on.  I told them that the journey can be challenging and a lot of work needed to be done in a PhD program, starting from coursework and research to publishing and defending a thesis, and these PhD struggles required the 3 Ps - patience, passion and perseverance. I warned these enthusiastic students that the journey could be exhausting mentally, physically and lonesome. Over and above all this, there were problems of faulty instruments that took ages to be serviced,  issue of funding or lack of it, chemicals which didn’t arrive on your work bench when you needed them and disappointments through failed experiments. But 1 advice that I gave the students was that instead of taking the failure personally, and blaming themselves , they could get back to the workbench to change the parameters of the experiment and see how it goes. I told them to view any setbacks not as lack of their worth but as an integral part of their experiments. Amy C Edmondson’s book titled ‘Right kind of wrong : The science of failing’ talks about ‘intelligent failures’ and how scientists can benefit from these.

🌟✨ “Shoot for the moon; if you miss, you will be among the stars” 🌟🌠 Greetings, connections! I am beyond excited to share that this October, I will officially begin my Master’s in Industrial Biotechnology (by research), a field that has captured my heart and ignited my passion. What makes this journey even more special is that I will be under the guidance of my undergraduate academic advisor, The Honourable Prof Ts Dr Suraini Abd-Aziz, which now onwards will be my postgraduate supervisor, a mentor who has been instrumental in shaping my academic path. Industrial Biotechnology is the bridge between science and industry. It involves the innovative application of biotechnology for industrial purposes, including manufacturing, alternative energy, and biomaterials. This field spearheads the commercialisation of biotechnology products and industrial bioprocesses, harnessing the power of enzymes and biological cells (micro-organism, plant, and animal) or their physiological bioprocesses. Research is where my heart finds its rhythm, and the joy it brings me is unparalleled. I am ready to dive deeper, push boundaries, and contribute to groundbreaking advancements. 🥼🧑🏻🔬 My ultimate dream is to transition from my Master’s to a PhD. 🥺💬 Design and planning of the experiment, selections, density, and probability to organize by creating self-plan development. Experiment scopes, planning, communication, policy, applications, and working with world organization policy and reviews of experiments. Tools for validation of design experiments, regulation, and policy for experiments with humans and samples. Adaptation, existing knowledge, and translation into application level. 🧸💬 Humans are good resources because they can communicate, experiments and adaptive scenarios can end at the laboratory but humans can communicate and make it continuity. The fastest way of development is communication and that needs to be based on true experience as a scientist. 🐣💬 Communicate faster than existing ⁉️ ( Humans perform better in both ways )

A fascinating discovery emerged – the underutilized potential of the high-conducting ceramic phase. Yet, the transition of lithium ions from polymer to ceramic is met with an enigmatic interfacial barrier. 💡 Illuminating Insights: My Upcoming Research Focus 🚀 As I embark on the next chapter of my academic journey, my attention centers on deciphering the mechanisms of this interfacial barrier. My research journey aims to unravel the complexities, paving the way for a smoother transition of lithium ions. By doing so, we have the potential to elevate the ionic conductivity of solid-state composite electrolytes, revolutionizing battery technology. 🔬 Advanced Labs: A Hub of Discovery 🏭 My research playground, nestled within the Institute for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing (IAMMS) at the University of Tennessee (UTK) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), is equipped with cutting-edge tools.
