Are you a seasoned researcher, motivated entrepreneur or industry professional passionate about bioscience and engineering? Are you like us, looking to collaborate more, contribute to and cultivate Life Sciences and Biosciences in India further? 🌱🔬 We at BioQuorum would love to talk to you, to learn more about your experiences and journey, and showcase what we have in mind. Schedule a chat with us https://lnkd.in/etSj-fmc today! _______________________________________________________ Our Motivation and Goals: A few years ago, Shruti Sridhar and I had a fantastic opportunity to found the iGEM Indian League with Priyannth RS and build a passionate team to develop Synthetic Biology in India. We spent a year working with h Ricardo Chav and the iGEM Leagues and came away with a desire to do more, across disciplines, domains and India. Our conversations with students, teachers and graduates and our own experiences at the time demonstrated a clear need. To create "future ready students" that were equipped with the right skills identified from a changing landscape. This will help them transition better from studenthood to whatever follows, whether a role in industry, academia, entrepreneurship or otherwise. To that end, we are very excited to launch BioQuorum - connecting our science journeys. A platform aimed to cultivate, collaborate and communicate bioscience and engineering. Our pilot program is "Come Do a Project with Us". A free-month long opportunity to learn about a new bioinformatics skill, apply your skill towards solving a scientific question and a chance to present your project to experts who can guide you further. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing additional information on how you can sign up and get involved. We encourage any undergraduates, from life science programs or otherwise, and highschoolers to track this space to learn more! At BioQuorum, we believe in the power of collective intelligence and the impact of collaboration in driving scientific progress. In April, we set a personal goal of reaching out to 200 (arbitrary number to get us started) life sciences experts across academia, industry and entrepreneurship in India over the next 4 months. To discuss with them areas of research, the potential of growth and to gain an appreciation of their journey so far. If you feel our vision intrigues you or anyone in your network, schedule a meeting with us using this link: https://lnkd.in/etSj-fmc and share it further. We encourage anyone who shares our vision for a more connected and collaborative scientific community to reach out and get involved. Together, we can unlock new possibilities, tackle complex challenges, and make meaningful contributions to the world of science. #india #bioscience #lifesciences #biotechnology #education #BioQuorum #ScienceCommunity #Collaboration #Innovation #Bioscience #Engineering

💡 Here's an exciting new way to explore healthcare entrepreneurship for our scientist colleagues. In the UK, Deep Science Ventures is behind the Venture Science Doctorate, a 3-year fully-funded, sector-agnostic PHD program. 🪜 This program is a new take on developing and commercializing deep tech, combining both in just 3 years: 1️⃣ Year 1 is for mapping and scoping opportunities in the industry 2️⃣ Year 2 is for hypothesis based exploration and 3️⃣ Year 3 is for venture creation And, interestingly, “all of the IP is transferred into the new venture upon completion of the program” - a bit different than typical university spinout models! ❓ This program might be a good fit for you if: ➡ You're interested and comfortable in exploring the depths of medicine (especially pharmaceuticals) but would appreciate structured guidance on the venture development side ➡ You need a bit more financial security than the typical venture-backed route and don’t mind taking a bit longer before launching your company ➡ You want to get immediately plugged in to a network of research supervisors, industry partners and venture mentors Applications for the Class of 2024 close on March 29th (link to Apply in the comments). But here are some interesting opportunities across the Deep Science Ventures ecosystem if you want to dive straight in (all roles based in the UK): Associate, New Venture Creation in Curative Therapeutics - https://lnkd.in/eAbzPhzg Co-founder in Residence, Nanoparticle Design for Neurofibromatosis Gene Therapy - https://lnkd.in/eN9b2vuW Co-Founder in Residence, Cellular Reprogramming for Curative Immune Tolerance - https://lnkd.in/ekyk2rtM Bioinformatics Consultant: Regulatory RNA Sequence Design & Structural Analysis - https://lnkd.in/en9gEVrC

The best ways to identify new product opportunities in biotechnology 🧬 For life science vendors selling lab products and services, keep a pulse on the research market, staying in tune with what scientists need to reach their experimental goals. Don't become so focused on your own technology that you make something "cool" but that the market doesn't need. Foster relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) who set the trends in their particular field of research. Jennifer Doudna is a great example for CRISPR, and James Thomson is a great example for stem cells. Iterate based on their feedback until you earn the privilege to be cited in their peer-reviewed publications. Only then can you be sure that you've truly scanned the landscape to fully commercialize a new lab product or service that scientists will actually implement in their research 🔬 This is from a LinkedIn article I contributed to, which includes other tips such as... 🔹 define the problem 🔹 ideate the solution 🔹 analyze the opportunity 🔹 prioritize the options Check out the full article, and give my contribution a like: https://lnkd.in/exZaCXd2 #CRISPR #stemcells #biotechdiaries Hi, I'm Jeff Bissen (pronounced BEE-sen) 👋 I'm a life science professional with 10 years of experience - first in research, now on the business side of the industry. I also post almost every day about my perspectives on biotech. Interested?
