Meetings crowded, struggling to move quickly, worried about focus and value? Your agency probably has “managerial bloat,” a common form of malaise in agencies that is driven by poor choices in how the agency is organized and managed. Bloat is enabled by a high manager-to-maker ration (MTMR). Bloat can create 20%-plus losses in productivity, plus many other effects including: reduced client and team satisfaction, lower work quality and delivery velocity, and a reduction in client value created per billable hour. You will learn how to assess your MTMR and understand its impact upon your organization’s future success or misery. Are we on the solution side ? In your office meetings did you experience a problem being discussed many times without getting any solution even after multiple sittings? Even though all the stakeholders are represented, did you wonder why no solution is arrived at ? If no solution is arrived at, did you analyze what the team members discussed in those "No Result" meetings. We noticed one interesting thing. There is always some enhancement in each of the sittings but not towards getting a solution but in amplifying the problem, in the name of understanding it better. We sensitized the teams not to waste time in detailing the problem beyond the required level instead use that effort towards getting solutions.. The tag line is "Always stand on the solution side and not on the problem side" #bethesolution #donotamplify #problemsolving #problemmanagement #problemsolvingskills #problemsolver

Transform your client relationships with the power of clear expectations. Setting the right expectations at the beginning of a client relationship is essential for smooth collaboration. Start with a detailed kickoff meeting to understand the client’s goals, needs, and expectations, and document everything discussed. Clearly define the scope of work, including deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities. Draft a comprehensive contract outlining the project scope, deadlines, payment terms, and contingencies, ensuring both parties sign it. Break down the project into manageable milestones with specific deadlines and share this timeline with the client for approval. Schedule regular check-ins and progress reports to keep the client informed about the project's status. Encourage regular feedback to ensure the project aligns with their expectations. Set clear communication channels and response times, and define your availability to set boundaries for after-hours communication. Clearly state the number of revisions included in the project scope and any additional costs for extra revisions. Be transparent about any potential challenges or limitations that might arise and provide a realistic picture of achievable outcomes. Keep detailed records of all meetings and agreements, and follow up verbal agreements with written confirmations. By setting clear and realistic expectations from the outset, you can build a strong foundation for a successful client relationship. Share your essentials for smooth collaboration. #Clientrelationship #clearexpectation #collaboration

Contracts and Business Requirement Documents are great things to protect you when things do not go as planned. I get concerned when we need contracts to work with each other for two internal teams in the same company. Modifying the plan seems like a better approach if you think something will go wrong. If you feel it necessary to protect yourself when working with another internal team, I think it means you are planning to do the wrong work in the first place. In my mind, internal contracts are like prenuptial agreements. They're probably a good idea in some cases, but they are rarely great for #trust and #collaboration. Let us focus on #teamwork and proactive #communication to provide the best product for our customers.
