A little tip to boost your productivity: 💡 Listening to your outlook email messages. I found out the other day that you can Listen to your emails! Game changer for me I can now multi task, listening to my emails while sorting through my keywords on google ads! This tool is super beneficial especially for proofreading, multitasking, increased comprehension and learning. ( Also great for when you are constantly on the go!) The Read Aloud tool reads all or part of your email and the Speak tool reads only the text you've selected (Speak is available for Windows only.) You can turn on or off the read aloud feature in outlook by: Selecting file > options > accessibility. Under application display options select “show read aloud.” Once in the home tab select read aloud. You can alter the read aloud settings by selecting the gear icon, where you can adjust the reading speed and change the voice type. How to make sure your messaging lands. Here is a quick test. I had a call with a client, where we discussed his company's messaging. Me: "We help companies build..." Client: "I prefer to say we empower companies to build..." Me: Would you say "We empower you to build" during a call with a potential client? Client: "Hm...no." Moral of the story: If you won't say it to your client on a call, you should simplify and clarify your message.

Public speaking called oratory, is communicating with people. Many people fear public speaking. Communication is the essence of our interaction. It enables exchanges of thoughts/ideas/emotions in an increasingly inter-connected world. Barriers to effective communication & ways out to enhance it. Process of communication involves many forms like verbal/non-verbal/ written/ visual. Feedback is crucial in interactive exchange of views. Active listening & empathy in ensuring mutual understanding. It's vital to various aspects of life, relationships education & at workplace. Allows people to express their needs, resolve conflicts, build trust. For education it becomes more vital to impart knowledge by enabling collaborative learning & critical thinking. It helps students prepare for future professional courses. At workplace it forms the basis of teamwork, collaboration ensuring that tasks are clearly understood, goals aligned & feedback provided. Leaders must have strong communication skills. Good communication has a lot many barriers physical, psychological or linguistic. Physical ones are factors like noise/distance/technological issues. Psychological ones are mental & emotional factors like stress/anxiety/preconceived notions. Linguistic ones have misinterpretations when individuals use idiomatic expressions not familiar to others. Cultural differences may also lead to misunderstandings. Strategies to enhance communication. Improving this skills requires conscious effort & practice. Some strategies to enhance communication. Active Listening, “A language is not taught, it’s caught” Clarity and Conciseness. Feedback: Providing & receiving feedback is good. Empathy & Emotional Intelligence.
