Even Cookie Monster knows the way we’re working is unsustainable… Did you know that most of the time when you “multitask” at work, you’re “task switching” - asking your brain to focus on more than one thing at a time (which it actually isn’t very good at). Your performance decreases and it takes you 23 minutes to recover your focus (Dr. Gloria Mark - UC Irvine). Take a break - eat your cookies in peace! (And make sure your team eats their cookies in peace. I promise - it’ll get you better results!)

Ever feel like tasks take forever just because you have the time? That’s Parkinson’s Law at work – “Work expands to fill the time available for its completion.” But here’s the good news: you can use it to your advantage! Here are a few ways to keep things moving in business: ✅ Set tighter deadlines: A little urgency helps cut out distractions and get to the point faster. ✅ Focus on what matters: Spend your energy on tasks that actually make an impact, not the busywork. ✅ Use tools to save time: Automate the boring stuff so you and your team can stay focused on the big picture. ✅ Give your team ownership: Clear goals + time limits = less micromanaging and more results. ✅ Review and tweak: Keep an eye on what’s working and make changes to improve efficiency. Time is one of your most valuable resources. Use it wisely, and you’ll get more done without working 24/7. How do you make the most of your time? Drop your tips below 👇

Daily Reflections: The Power of "Do It Right the First Time" Today, we received valuable feedback from our internal customer regarding the completion rate of a specific program. Upon further investigation, we found that the main issues stemmed from deficiencies in our tracking system, which required extensive manual checking to ensure that records were accurately tracked. This system error did occur occasionally, leading to time-consuming manual work to update the records correctly. Luckily, we will be able to replace it in the near future with more thorough considerations. This experience reinforced the importance of "doing it right the first time." It's a crucial mindset that can significantly impact our daily productivity and communication. As John Wooden wisely stated, “If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?” Even in something as simple as crafting an email, taking the extra moment to ensure clarity and accuracy can make a big difference. Not only does it save us from rework, but it also enhances our professionalism and strengthens our relationships. Let's adopt a mindset of thoroughness and intention in everything we do, whether it's sending an email, writing a report, or implementing a system. By doing so, we can minimize errors, boost efficiency, and foster a culture of excellence within our teams. #DailyReflection #Productivity #Communication #Excellence #Professionalism #DoItRightTheFirstTime
