I was reflecting on my data analysis journey today and I couldn’t help but feel gratitude for how far I have come. It’s not been a long time but as someone who is big on celebrating the littlest things, I feel gratitude. I remember I experienced a lot of fear and challenges starting but looking back in time, I have grown, I have learnt a lot, and I truly enjoy what I am doing. There have been days full of setbacks and challenges but even with them, I believe I have found a true passion for working on projects, gaining insights and providing recommendations that drive valuable change for businesses and these keep me going. Today, I spent time strengthening my knowledge and skills in advanced SQL using Alex Freberg MySQL series, I’ve constantly tried and even when I’m able to do it when working on my personal projects, I’m not the most confident working with advanced SQL but it is very interesting to always push myself further because I believe I only get better at each learning and trial. I'm also happy to have worked on my second task as a Data Analyst Intern at Analytics Career Connect today! I can’t wait to share this with you guys! Each step I take there shapes me further, and I’m very excited by how much I’ve learned through this internship experience. Here's to continuing to develop, learn, and contribute as much value as I can! 🤭🥂 #DataAnalysis #SQL #DataAnalyticsJourney #Internship #TechGirl #CareerGirl #Grateful #ContinuousLearning #GrowthMindset #AnalyticsCareerConnect #InternshipExperience #DataDrivenInsights

The most recent data analytics project I undertook at Texas A&M University-Commerce centered on analyzing student internship data within the College of Business. The project started with understanding the data, asking relevant questions, cleaning, and preprocessing the data using appropriate data tools to finally build an interactive dashboard. The goal was to comprehend the volume of students involved in internships at specific companies across different seasons from Spring 2021 to Winter 2022. Initially, my manager Shernay Wormley, M.S. sought basic information, but the project evolved into a comprehensive analysis. This involved categorizing students' employment sectors, pinpointing locations via a dashboard map, and identifying unique employers. The interactive nature of the dashboard was particularly exciting. For instance, it allows filtering by academic major, displaying sectors, employers, locations, and segregating data between Graduate and Undergraduate students. This project significantly enhanced my proficiency in Power BI. I owe gratitude to Professor Vinayaka Gude for his guidance and diverse perspectives. Additionally, I'm thankful for Shernay Wormley, M.S. 's curiosity, which added depth and interest to the project. Her reaction upon seeing the initial draft was gratifying as she remarked on how the complex data transformed into a visually appealing dashboard. My passion lies in simplifying intricate data for businesses. A pivotal accomplishment of this project was establishing a model for future Data Analyst Graduate Assistants within TAMUC's Career Services Department to utilize. #DataAnalytics #BusinessIntelligence #DataDrivenDecisions #AnalyticsStrategy #BigDataAnalytics #DataScience #DataVisualization #AIinBusiness #PredictiveAnalytics #DataInsights #AnalyticsInnovation #BusinessAnalytics #MachineLearning #DataStrategy #AdvancedAnalytics #DigitalTransformation #DecisionAnalytics #BIReporting #DataMining #AnalyticsSolution

WHAT WOULD I TELL SOMEONE JUST STARTING OUT IN DATA ANALYTICS? As a baby data analyst, I only have a little to say.🙈 My data analytics journey has been a rough one, I had always thought I had to learn everything before I could apply to internships or jobs, but it didn't take too long for me to painstakingly realize that I cannot learn "everything" just yet. In fact, it is better to apply and learn on the job. Since my first data analytics bootcamp in 2023 (about a year ago), I have continued to take different courses and watch YouTube videos just to ensure that I would be ready when I finally decide to apply to opportunities. LOL. Well, that definitely didn't work because there are too many things to learn. Hence, I would say that if you are an intending or beginner data analyst, you should learn the basics and start applying to internships to gain real life experience, while still doing some self-learning. That would save so much time and stress and help to become better in no time. I finally took the bold step to start applying to internships and jobs about a month ago and by God's grace, I was able to land 2 different internships. Sending you my warm wishes. What do you think about this? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section 👏☺️ #JCINIGERIA #JCINCOLLEGIATE #LINKEDINGROWTHCHALLENGE #BRANDDEVELOPMENT #SEE #PARADIGMSHIFT

Hello Connections 🌟 !!! Data Science is a popular and an emerging field today which has facinated my interest and quest in technology. According to my research and belief, Data Science and Data Analytics are two different fields. But despite their differences, both fields strive to achieve the same core objective: To extract valuable insights from data. These insights are then used to make better decisions and solve problems (actionable outcomes)📊. With many softwares and tools like Power BI, Tableau, Excel, etc. along with programming languages Python(and its libraries), SQL, R being highly used and recommended in this field, I started my research and began my practice on few languages and tools specific to data. I needed to get good amount of practice and various problem statements to actually get into the depth of complex problems. That's when I got an opportunity from LinkedIn and applied at The Sparks Foundation for an internship under Data Science and Bussiness Analytics domain. The internship consisted of a total of 8 tasks starting from Beginner's level to Advanced Level. I realised one conclusion, the more complex the problem statement is, the more curious your mind gets to solve problem in the most efficient way. Applying for this internship helped me get a good practise and knowledge on how data can be used to find a solution to business problems for better outcome. I would like to thank The Sparks Foundation for providing me with a good internship which not only helped in enhancing my knowledge in this field related to data but also escalated my quest to keep growing... #GRIPMAY24 #Data #TheSparksFoundation #internship #learning
