80% of shoppers visit a retailer’s website from their phone while shopping. Mobile-first isn’t a buzzword. It’s the default for how you should be building your storefront. If you’re ignoring the mobile version of your Shopify site, you’re overlooking a significant portion of your business. People have very low tolerance for page load and mobile responsiveness. They won’t wait around, they will just bounce. Many may never come back. Think about your own shopping habits. When you’re looking for some clothes or a new product and try to access the site on your phone, you’re used to a site that fits your screen and adjusts in a way that makes it easier for you to move around the site. And if you ever come across a site that isn’t mobile-optimized, you’re forced to do a lot of scrolling and zooming before you get fed up and bounce. Given the prevalence of mobile use over desktop, it's sensible for brands to develop a mobile version of their site in addition to the desktop version. However, it's important to note that smaller screens impose space restrictions. This forces you to select only the most essential elements for display, as not all content from your desktop site will fit on the mobile version. Here’s what you should pay attention to when optimizing for mobile: → Optimize your images to fit the screen → Use larger and more visible buttons for CTAs → Horizontal scrolling for products under the same category → Avoid multiple pop-ups that are difficult to dismiss → Make forms shorter and easier to fill out By implementing these simple changes, you'll notice an increase in conversions on your site and an improved user experience.
